Fucking French nigger. If you want raid 6 on 4 disks, please go kill yourself. 2 redundant disks in a 4 disk system is pretty fucking stupid, but do whatever you baguette rating cunt.

wow anon, you're so edgy. I hope you keep this trait going into adulthood!

maybe he's canadian

Not him, but he is right. Raid 6 is kinda stupid for 4 disks. Raid 10 gives almost similar protection and faster sequential read/write speeds for the same amount of space.

then he would deserve it. Fuck French-Canada. I have little experience with France, but they seem to have the best international tech support.

Hey OP, does that POS do RAID 10?

It makes more sense than RAID 10, RAID 6 can survive a 2 disk failure. In a 4 disk setup, RAID 10 only has a 66% chance. And for a gigabit NAS disk performance wont matter since a single disk can saturate the network connection.

We use a RN314 at the small business I work at, got it for simplicity, I set it up for raid 10. Better I/O expecially for multiple users plus it offers any 1 disk failure, up to 2 disk failures, and rebuilds if there is a failure is much quicker making failure during rebuild less likely. If your putting data you cannot loose I recommend getting an external hard drive and still do a backup every couple of weeks
