Nvidia cards:
Amd cards:
matrox
ATi
Never had an issue with nVidia
My only experience with AMD was when my stepbrother wanted me to install drivers for his APU's integrated video, and I couldn't find any for Win8 because it was discontinued a year earlier (and his PC was only a year old at that time), that's when I realized the nodrivers thing is more than a meme.
I did have an ATI Rage 128 card years ago though which was pretty balla

In my price range (sub 350 dollars), AMD recently.

Nvidia - EVGA, MSI
AMD - Sapphire, XFX
AMD: Sapphire and PowerColor.
Asus are ok but overpriced, no experience with XFX. I avoid MSI because too many of their products have failed on me.
I don't buy Nvidia cards but I hear Gainward/Palit, Zotac and EVGA are supposed to be good. If your EVGA card doesn't burn your house down that is.

> Fuck Asus.
And fuck MSI and PowerColor. MSI makes aftermarket cards which don't overclock. Powercolor just makes shitty cards.

xfx for amd. the gtr 480 is awesome
>>58287950
Whoever offers the best warranty on that particular generation of cards
>>58287950
nvidia - EVGA
AMD - no idea
I'll add this for what it's worth: I have a Galaxy GT 430 card that's been running daily for 6 years on a WinXP/loonix machine. An absolute champ for it's capabilities. Just blow the lint out of the cooling block twice a year and it refuses to die.

Hard to know who has the 'best' warranty if you've never dealt with their service dept before.

AMD: XFX(Only for the 480), MSI, Sapphire

This is true. But that is something you can read up on.
Find out who has a long warranty and then find out if they have a tradition of actually fulfilling it.
For example XFX had a bad name as far as their PSUs went for a while. Don't know if it's still so.
Best card for money.

I go with whichever has the longest warranty
