Maybe try to fix the wifi first? Figure out what's the problem weak signal, interference or maybe link saturation? You can get decent speed (~10Mb/s) with -75db RSSI so definitely check that first. If you have strong signal and no one's using the internet connection besides you and you're still having low speeds, that may be interference, try changing the channels to 1, 6, or 11. Channel 13 might work fine as well but it overlaps so that's not guaranteed. Lastly, if link is simply oversaturated because one retard is using all the bandwidth while torrenting you can change QoS settings on the router

try looking for a particular point in your room where signals improve, and then install a wifi repeater in that place.

You'd have to install an entire range of repeaters between your computer and the router. It's pretty much cable or bust. Powerline is your best bet, different floors shouldn't be a hurdle.
