You can make good videogames if you are a programmer, there are plenty of open source games you can help https://libregamewiki.org/Main_Page

Imagine if you have a company, you can sell those games to if you create an original story and artwork. Yes you read it just right, you can sell it. Put some money on marketing and you are on the right track.

Another way is offering services for technical support for those willing to switch the platform. I am not joking when I say people makes money with this. RedHat and Canonical are the biggest examples.

See, the issue with this is even open source applications are a fucking pain in the dick to get working on all the different distributions unless they're fucking trivial. Even Windows is pretty fucking annoying with all the different C++ runtimes and other bullshit for all the different applications, but it's popular enough that companies are willing to dump resources into making sure 99% of Windows users are going to be able to run that program. There's no fucking way companies are going to bother to make their shit work with all the different distros of Linux. Linux keeps getting more fragmented too, systemd-specific shit is making more and more applications break on distributions that don't use it, so distros are writing hackjob workarounds and compatibility layers to get it working again. No company on earth is going to bother with that kind of bullshit when Windows exists.
