Just set your homepage to about:blank, and use NewTabOverride and Stylish to make new tabs a blank page with dark color.

Umatrix can't whitelist cookies and not destroy them after a few minutes, it destroys all whitelisted cookies if you enable that setting.
SDC can keep a whitelist and kill the rest of the cookies i have to enable from time to time on umatrix to make some site work.
