Pic related , from experience how many will actually work ? They dont look so bad but its whats inside that matters.
perhaps is there any better way to get working condition hardware of this era ?
Depends on the seller. I count on 50% of them working, but I probably average 90% success rate.

The floppy drives are probably okay. The optical drives are most likely toast.

I would assime 50% too.. I wonder how many he actually tested as not working yet put in to maximize profits by selling them as a non tested lot.
Its so cheap I dont really care anyway , as long as I get some of the tape drives working.

-and like maybe 2 floppy drives.
Also anyone has any idea what the fuck is this thing ? You dont get to see the front in any picture.

It's entirely possible that they're all okay. I just know from my experience optical drives are more sensitive to wear and tear. My oldest CD-ROM drive still working is a 6x Matsushita. All of my other IDE optical drives can't read for shit. I have a box of floppy drives and only 2 out of 15ish have stopped working.

It's probably an external SCSI CD-ROM drive. Possibly needs a CD-ROM caddy. My dad had one like this.

What are you doing with them?
