Yes. Buy M.2.
>>
>>58252524
If you mean they're a meme if you use them on your faggy gayman PC, then yes.
>>
>>58252524
They're for servers and high IO workloads you mongoloid

Not for your shitty gaming rig with 32GB of unused ram

The only heavy tasks I do on my PC is gayming, so I guess I don't need one.

What do you think NVME even is?
PCIe SSDs are great, and m2 is a good direction getting into seperate PCIe slots
>>
>>58252870
Pretty sure he was joking.
>>
>>58252524
No, my laptop with an m.2 nvme drive is noticeably faster at opening programs than my desktop with 2 SATA SSDs in raid0

CPUs are closeish in performance - i7 6700HQ vs i7 4770
>>

NVMe == PCIe
PCIe =/= NVMe

OP posted a picture of a PCIe SSD in the format of an expansion card, those are meme-tier and on their way out. NVMe is the way to go.

Useful if you have and older intel platform than skylake and don't have enough dma channels but still want a fast ssd for sequential writing. In real world use, you won't find any tangible speed advantage over an ordinary ssd. Buy only if you have a specific practical application for this that requires sequential rw. Its likely you dont have one.
>>
>>58253140
That would actually be a domain subset of PCIe, "==" would be wrong in many languages
>>
>>58252524

Everything is a meme on this board. Everything but Gentoo.

I’d just like to interject for moment. What you’re refering to as PCIe SSD, is in fact, PCIe NVME SSD, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, NVME SSD. NVME is not an storage system unto itself, but rather another component of a fully functioning storage system made useful by the motherboard IO, vendor support and vital system components comprising a full PC as defined by memes.
