I'll use it when they get subscriptions(even local subscriptions) and make it so I don't have to hit a special button to play in the background. Playback should just work like stock app with YouTube background playback Xposed module.

It would be nice to have a list which consists of videos of channels you have selected. It's basically the same as regular subscriptions but you need a botnet account for it. Newpipe needs to be a complete replacement for the regular youtube ""app"" to gain popularity and actually be relevant.

You can always search for videos on the browser if you really need to. I only visit YouTube when I want to watch something and I know exactly what that is, or when someone sends me a link. So, I know exactly what video I want to watch and therefore don't see the point of subscription as I neither follow any YouTubers nor spend more than an hour a week on YouTube.

Having a list of new videos of people that you've selected is much more convenient than searching through a shit ton of irrelevant videos to find what you want. Considering the current state of newpipe, adding a jewgle account free subscription page replacement would make it a full blown youtube ""app"" replacement.

Never said that, the interface is different to begin with. I'm just saying that adding these small features can actually make newpipe popular and relevant.
