The human race itself is arbitrary and comes with very arbitrary properties. Logic would dictate that neither pure communism nor pure capitalism can work in this very arbitrary and often non-logical framework. The past has also shown that both fascism and socialism lead to poverty and self-destruction.
The past has also shown that free markets (to a certain degree) prove to provide the most liberty and freedom for most of the population. There have been examples where the free market doesn't work (like in infrastructure) and logically we need some kind of regulation or incentives so that not 0.01% rips off the other 99.99%.

Therefore, the current form of government in most western societies is pretty admirable, we just need more logic and reason when coming up with regulations, because there are fields which need more and fields which need less.
