But Android is a bigger botnet!

>>
>>58240175
Many Android ROMs (like CyanogenMod) don't have any system-wide telemetry, unless you choose to enable it.

On Windows 10 you don't have a choice, telemetry is forced and cannot be disabled officially. (There's some choice on Enterprise/Education versions, but that's it.)
>>
>>58240175
There's less choice on mobile devices

Wow man! Better fuck up my laptop/desktop too then huh?
>>
There is no privacy when you use a computer connected to Internet. No matter what software you run, you can only minimize the botnet to some degree but not get rid of it completely. You have no reason to believe me but I have seen some shit.

luckily I'm able to afford a privacy focused company that most people tend to hate but deep down secretly want

Android fags are in full defense mode today.

Go on..

>A mod results in no more telemetry
One can 'mod' Windows 10 to not send telemetry too.
>>
>>58242605
It's not a "Mod"
The android that comes bundled with your phone is Android + Google apps + other apps + google services + some other shit.
Pure android only has basic apps like phone, calendar, camera, etc.
Cyanogenmod is really close to it, by only having the same apps as in a debloated Android.

Basically yes, smartphones come with a bloated botnetted version of android, because vendors can modify the os however they want.
It's a open source OS, it's not meant to run on a specific device, so if you make a phone with android, you might need to twak it

He hasn't seen any shit. He's just saying that he wishes he had privacy, but is too lazy to lift a finger to get it. Other people going to the effort to have at least some privacy makes him feel bad. So he tells them to knock it off, they're wasting their time, it's pointless, they can't possibly succeed.

"I would like to interject for the second moment. What you’re referring to as Android, is in fact, GNU/Linux/Android, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux plus Android. Android is not an operating system unto itself, but rather an addition to Linux--another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX."

Look, CyanogenMod.
A Wikipedia definition:
"Custom firmware, also known as aftermarket firmware, is an unofficial new or modified version of firmware created by third parties on devices..."

Come on, the names really doesn't matter.

Nevertheless, there are people coming up with tools to tweak a Windows 10 .iso to remove some bloat and telemetry so my point still stands.
>>
>>58244255
YET Android has no GNU in it and is not POSIX.
Funny.
