I know that a Swedish company called mapcom made something like that back in the late 90s/early 00s. I doubt they actually manufactured cases themselves but maybe you can get a lead from looking them up. The model I can remember was called mapcom-olle.

I'm pretty sure we emailed the same guy in California. It's not worth their time if you aren't a bulk purchaser. I don't know of a single place that will sell you just the case.

I'm sick of lugging my desktop and peripherals to nightclubs to VJ.
At home I could plug into a different monitor, I want this for portable on-site use, laptops are too expensive and not upgradeable/can't replace parts. Mitx box with a carrying case is an option but still have to deal with monitor and peripherals.
That first case is ideal for me. Just looking for somewhere to purchase one.

Maybe if I built an additional "wall" for the case and mounted the screen in that, then attached it to the case via hinges... and made a comfy slot or strap to hold down a small keyboard/touchpad combo...

Getac make stuff like this, but it smilitary grade, so its probably out of your pricerange. I have milsulprus laptop from them, and you could probably beat two people to dead with it, drove car over it, wash it after everything in lake river, and it wont pause playing animu shit from youtube.
