I have a limited amount of storage space, can I use Tiny7 as a full desktop operating system in place of normal Win7?
>>
Yes. I would use Lubuntu, but Tiny7 is still good.
I've used Tiny7 on a 60GB HP Pavilion with 512mb of RAM and it ran perfectly.
>>
it has no media features GTAV will not run without those
>>
>>58203558
>no media features
i believe you can download all that crap from microsoft
>GTAV will not run
i don't think op will be too concerned
>>
>>58203558
I don't plan on playing games with it, im installing this on a chromebook with a 16gb SSD.

>>58203540
I would use some kind of linux, but I need to use windows applications
>tfw tied down to proprietary software
what would stallman say?
>>
if you're ok with it being 32bit only, and some things might not work
>>
I'd rather make my own lightweight 7 version with Ntlite. There's even a pretty good tutorial on their forums.
>>
>>58203485
>an I use Tiny7 as a full desktop operating system in place of normal Win7?
Sure, I use it as a VM myself.
But I have a LiveUSB of it that I use it when I want to run my own customized OS.
>>
>>58203485
Search for Thin PC, it's an official MS Win 7 made from embedded and it's pretty lightweight.

Working with updates etc and there's a trial.
>>
>>58203485
Tiny7 is sold 32-bit Win7 Ultimate with some removed features, that are not used frequently by end user and there are better 3rd party application for it.

https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5039629/Windows_Tiny7_Unattended_Activated_CD_%28x86%29_-_eXPerience

It's made by the same guy who made the MicroXP.
I've tested a few games and all run without issues.
Unlike WES7 with several drivers missing, all drivers are working fine in Tiny7.

>>58204888
That's a better option, though for the initiated.

>>58203627
>tied down to proprietary software
THIS.
PS, is by far the only thing that keeps me tied to windows.
I've tried running it under WINE but many features didn't work especially with WACOM tablet.

While WINE does a good job playing "some" japanese VNs, many still refused to run.
I have a LiveUSB with win7, that I have installed several VNs on it.
It's quite convenience.

more accurately it should read

Installing it in a VM right now and will test if Office and Photoshop work.
Does someone know if I should install updates?
>>
>>58206137
>should install updates
Don't.
The newer updates are telemetry.
PS CC works fine, and no issues with Office 2007
>>
>>58205802
The only method of activation is GVLK though
>>58205910
WES7 takes all Windows 7 drivers, I don't know what you are talking about.
>>
>>58206137
>>58206558
Installed and it works good so far. With Photoshop and Office and Browser only 10GB are used. So 15GB for the VM are perfect. My old W7 VM needed 30GB for the same.

But one thing I worry about is if the creator of Tiny7 put something in there that doesn't belong there.
>>
>>58206689
Well they did build some form of reputation amongst the community, it is up to you to trust it or not.
>>
>>58206619
>I don't know what you are talking about.
Maybe it werked on your PC.
Doesn't mean it will work on the reset.
>>58206689
>put something in there that doesn't belong there.
I've tested it for for a long time.
Sharkwire didn't reveal any shady connection.
And eXperince have good reputation among the community.
The only thing I should be worried about is >>58205910 the torrent file but the HASH checks out.
And I've run it through clam and MWB and nothing showed up.
And since you're using it for a VM I doubt you'd be in danger.
>>
>>58206748
You are not addressing my point, WES7 takes ALL Windows 7 drivers unless you missed something important during IBW, which then you can either reinstall or use DISM to add the package back.
>>
>>58206730
>>58206748
Sure they put much work on it. Will use it anyway without important data. Maybe they are more trustworthy than Microsoft itself.
>>
>>58206791
>they are more trustworthy than Microsoft itself
It is.
I've used MicroXP for VM with puppy linux.
Spend like 10 months leeching on other people laptops/desktops
>>
>>58203485
No, it's botnet.
Use WES7. It's official, safe and better
