What are the best PC speakers and why are they Rbetigol?

Ohey I was just about to make a thread just like this.

Looking at getting some pc speakers < $140 but dunno what to pick. Most critical amazon reviews for stuff I'm finding just go "Sub is overpowering and mids are shit"

I had a pair of OP's pictured speakers before they died and they were OK at best. But everything just kinda.. merged together, nothing was distuingishable, especially in games.

I'd get some cheaper monitors like the Mackie CR3 or the Presonus ones. But it depends on how much you really think you need a sub even if it's going to be a shitty that just makes the same muddy thudding sound no matter what the input is. You'd be surprised, you get decent bass out of monitor speakers, it's just not completely overpowering.
