Who do we hate this thing again?
I was at the Apple Store two days ago, and I fucking loved this thing. It works amazingly well after the update for Mac OS, and could really have a future in the market once third party developers begins using it.

Bet it doesn't work amazingly well outside of Apple software, it is also still a sign Apple has lost any fucking clue what a professional actual does with a laptop along with the usb c only ports needing dongles to use the same 2 billion usb devices from the last 20 years. If you buy this thing, you are Apple livestock.

Anyone that used that many USB cables already used a USB dongle to begin with back in the regular Macbook Pro Retina from 2012-2015.

>>58171009
wow that looks cool to be honest
>>
>>58170888
A professional that a company would actual budget buying the laptop for. If you can do all your work on a smartphone, no expensive laptop for you. Hell, my 17" i3 laptop is more "pro" just because it has a full keyboard and can be used for programming or 3D modeling better than this thing, and it has standard USB connections.

No escape key
>>
my uncle works at apple as a software engineer and he said they are completely out of touch and he doesn't get it either.
>>
>>58170789
The MacBook Pro is ostensibly targeted at pros (i.e., somebody who uses the laptop in a professional setting). The touchbar comes off as a gimmick and is especially silly when Apple removed actual pro features like all the ports that were present in the previous MBP model.
>>
>>58171762
It has an escape key. I don't like the touch bar but stop being retarded.
>>
>>58171845
No it does not, only the bottom-spec model has an escape key.

This is a shit gimmick feature that will be phased out in less than 5 years.
>>

Someone absolutely needs to create a virus for this thing and have it start displaying crap like "press here to resurrect Steve Jobs as your own personal slave driver."
>>
>>58173425
OSX can't get viruses
>>
>>58170888
You obviously have no idea what a "businessman" actually does at a successful company.
>>
>>58173464
AH HA HA HA HA HA
They are actually running virus removals in store now and not telling the people that brought the computers in about it. It was big news if you had actually been paying attention. Someone even managed to get a ransomware kit into a bittorrent client inside a Linux repository. No system is safe (especially from people that can't even bother to investigate the current state of malware for mac when using their mac).
>>
>>58173464
LOL who told you this mactoddler? The apple salesman?
>>
>>58173529
>>58173550
It's common knowledge that they can't get infected.
>>
>>58171009
To be honest everyone sperged out on initial reviews and it caused perception to change reality.

Reality I don't need a SD port, I have Bluetooth on my camera. Reality, I don't need dongles because I just buy the better USB/Thunderbolt accessories. Oh no all the reason to hate it is gone.

Also its already been discovered that using Google Chrome brings the battery life up about 4 hours so there isn't even that issue.

People are believing the naysayers way too hard this time, the laptop has so much better features than other laptops its crazy.
>>
>>58173560
Common knowledge as in, the apple salesman told you right?
>>
>>58173594
Wait there are still people that use plug n play accessories? It's nearly 2017 wtf
>>58173610
No as in I read it online years ago
>>
>>58173560
You must work for Apple, here's some official documentation of what to do in case they know your computer was infected from 5 years ago.
>>
>>58173560
Fucking mouthbreathing retard.

Between my cell phone and car radio, an SD slot is a thousand times more reliable than bluetooth or whatever new technology they're peddling. Plug it in via USB (possibly thunderbolt or whatever in the future), well time to turn on android auto/car play, because you don't actually have a choice in the matter anymore. By the way your radio is kinda of broken so it only works for 20 minutes, but you didn't notice that issue when you bought it and whoever made it can't actually fix it because they suck at engineering or just don't want to replace the part because it's too much work. I'll take reliability of older standards over bluetooth and USB-C at the moment.

That was a good one anon.
>>
>>58173872
Look at this guy, he says it was "fixed" showing he know nothing about it, it was actually debunked because it never worked like that, that's a 3rd party password manager using and old version.
>>
>>58171209
You do know that TB is usb-c with just a proprietary add on protocol?
>>
>>58170789
>>58171921
The touchbar might be great, but the rest of the laptop is seriously cucked.

It's sad to see Apple going to shit, it had it's awesome products, but not anymore.

After I found out about the touch bar, I had a thought
>What if they made the *entire screen* touch capable? Wow...
If I were a betting man, I'd place big money on Apple releasing a fully touchscreen capable device in the VERY near future.
It's the sort of brave, innovative thing they'd do.
>>
>>58170789

It did not have the future every other time this exact thing have been tried.

This board really shouldn't be called a tech board. You're a fucking retard.
>>
>>58170789
/g/ hates anything new and unfamiliar.
10 years ago they decried the idea of a touch screen smart phone with no keyboard.
20 years ago they would've been the one chastising Apple for going all USB.
30 years ago they'd have been railing against the mouse.

>implying mouse is an efficient interface device

>>
>>58176116
We still do want phones with physical keyboards.
