144hz is not a meme, gsync and freesync are not memes.

All 100+ Hz monitors are usually marketed for gaymen and often suffer from gaymen design and useless "pro" features. It's unavoidable and you have to suffer through it if you want the silky smooth 144Hz experience.

Gaymen stuff has and always will be a meme whatever it is. Before it was just Mice, spending $60 on some shitty Razer when the $20 Microsoft 1.1A was good enough. Now it's spread to just about anything (like with RoG) to add some price premium for no actual benefit. The Killer NIC will always be the biggest joke but some of these motherboards they come out with seem to out do it.
