My cousin gave me a supposedly broken MSI GT60 lappy. Basically GPU was dead (gtx675m, pic related) so I removed it and now it's running fine.
I want to buy a GPU replacement but I have one question:
Besides Thermal grease, isn't there some kind of white foam you have to put on it?. And yes I know it's a retarded question that's why I added apu.
Wrong board

gelid extreme
and no, on the memory and possibly other parts you may need to but im assuming not on the gpu itself.
>white foam
You're probably thinking of thermal tape, which gets put onto either VRM chips or something the RAM chips.
Really you should've been able to notice whether there was any on the heatsink when you removed the old chip.

just use intel integrated graphics if the gpu is not working
Lol a lappy
thermal pads
they go on the VRM and video ram
just to cover all bases, stick them on everything that has a flat surface
