Have any of y'all ever actually accidentally fried your graphics card when building a PC? I never use static protectors and haven't had any accidents
Don't think you'll get away with your mistakes.
People have friended their Graphics Card before.

fag,
Are you discriminating me? I didn't fry my PC when assembling it, i fried it when reassembling after cleaning.

yes. VRAM wasn't adequately cooled (bad waterblock). overclock => oops, garbage pixels in BIOS. RMA'd just fine

I took my PC apart for cleaning, and since reassembling it, I have about a 50% chance of my GPU properly detecting my displayport monitor on boot

only time I ever damaged a GPU was when I triggered the thermal shutdown for my laptop
I made an openGL program that was extremely hard on the GPU and I guess my fans were old
Never used those anti static bands in 10 years or so building/repairing computers and never had a problem.
static electricity is a meme

Pretty weird to become friends with your graphics card.
When I first built my computer, I tried to put in the motherboard without the standoffs. It's still running fine two years later. Didn't use any anti-static equipment either, all I did was touch the kitchen sink.
