Of course it will be useful, but in the context of an AI singularity, I don't see why that wouldn't be automated as well.

Depends on how powerufl the AI will get.
Humans as a species already have a wide range of intelligence, and there is certainly a very different job distribution between the two ends of the spectrum.
If our AI is slightly above-human in terms of intelligence, then I imagine the jobs which are currently done by the most intelligent humans would end up being done by AI instead, with humans moving “down” a notch in society.
If AI surpasses us by more than that, then the relationship between AI and human would be similar to that between humans and near-human animals. (e.g. great apes)
Finally, if AI surpasses us to the point where we're insignificant worms in comparison, the would probably treat us like we treat worms.
