How did you pick your user names, /g/? Do you have several? Do they vary depending on intent or use, such as professional e-mail versus hobby forum account?

This seems gay to discuss but whatever. Name based username for profession/school related shit, usually first and middle initial followed by last name and maybe a number. Say my name was Adam J. Smith ---> [email protected] or whatever. My school assigns emails like that, and at work my last name is required before the "@" for ease of knowing who sent what. For forums and shit it's whatever I can come up with on the spot. I'm an NGE fan so maybe Seele or Unit in the name followed by numbers or whatever else.

My RL nickname followed by an abbreviation of an old username I was known by when I frequented shitty forums in my youth

I basically have two personas. My “real” one, and my “alias” one. I use my real persona for anything related to FOSS, development, programming and so on. Basically “legit” stuff that I want associated with my name for when future employers google-stalk me.
For my alias, I settled on the name ‘nand’ a while ago, originally as a joke (to make the name match somebody who was named ‘xor’ on IRC), but I liked it so I sticked with it.
my first username was a (wrong) translation of my real name to english like 10 years ago
the name I settled on is a combination of another name and part of my name much like >>58105385
here's something sort of related. anyone still have access to their very first e-mail account? post those unread
I look around the room and pick the first three objects I see. Many of them contain desk.
