Pretty much this.

ALSO, someone made a .webm that showed someone doing local searches on a WIN10 machine, with Wireshark running in the background. With every mouse click, the OS communicated with the outside world. I thought I had this .webm here, but I cannot find it. If anyone knows it, it would be good to see it posted here.

2 years passed since the first consumer preview, and I still have to fake my region to make Cortana work for even the simplest of tasks that have nothing to do with region.

It's like their fucking mobile OS. The OS itself is not enough when there is zero support to properly utilize the OS.

I won't switch from 8.1 until I get 100% of the intended features outside 'murica!

hate microsoft but I'm too normie to care about linux so I use some pirated version of 10 that removes the botnet, waiting for my credentials to be hacked. Not going to deal with using ugly bootloaders for macOS or use aero on 7.

>>58104312
use disable win tracking to get rid of as much botnet as you want, but be warned that by removing botnet, it disables certain features like not being able to download anything off of the microsoft store (blocking certain microsoft ip's make it impossible to connect to them)

other than tin foil hat concerns, all my pirated games still work upgrading from 7, i can use a local account just like 7 that doesn't require me to have a microsoft id, so many more drivers for my hard ware right out of the box, gui is a nice refresh from aero aside from some icon design choices, etc. etc.

it's a lot nicer experience as an end user. if you're worried about the botnet, go use linux.

The desktop part is fine. Finally there's some degree of keyboard controls, a subpar but working console shell, and a primitive tiling window manager. Still light years away from a real OS but already more usable on a laptop than previous ones. Also, there's a cygwin killer built in. Works well so far.

Regarding the apps and the botnet, I've bought a torrent of LGBT edition, and cut the telemetry out of the installation image, so I can't say anything about them. And I'm using a third-party tool to manage updates so it doesn't bother me.

If there are two different control panel just for "le 2 kinds of ppl XDD" there should be two kind of built in start menu

2015 LTSB is the only non-buggy build. 2016 LTSB and Server 2016 are glitchy even in a standard VMWare environment. As for CB and CBB, there is no way that could be stable throughout the entire lifespan as long as you must upgrade your build to a newer one.

LGBT edition here, what ads are you talking about?

Any software can be hacked or can contain a zero day, that's not new. People used to trust OpenSSH some day.

If I could disable DWM ("Aero") on 10 I'd be using it right now.
But I can't, so I'm stuck with 7.

Overall 10 is not finished, though. It still feels a bit beta quality.

>put ads on start menu, taskbar, context menu and the fucking explorer - sure.

literally none of these things are present on my installation of windows 10. after using this for a while i can really pin point who's actually used the OS and who just complains about it with boogey man tactics based on what others shill to them. get fucking over it. you faggots sound as stupid as the windows xp faggots did about vista and then 7. i'd agree with you about 8/8.1, but jesus fucking christ. at least have complaints that are true.

Windows always had a handful of preinstalled games. But they were just sitting there, never went online, probably using 5MB of disk space at most. Unless you went looking for them you wouldn't even know they exist.

Now targeted ads, games and other demoware/crapware gets installed automatically with updates, uses your bandwidth, gets placed in the Start menu, nags you and the only way to turn that off completely is if you have Enterprise or Education.

Because last time I made a thread, it didnt got any replies:

Why everyone, who discuss Windows 10, often say "Enterprise LTSB or nothing", when Education have all Enterprise features, plus no Cortana and doesnt require to download new iso everytime new build comes out.

For me, it appears that Education is superior to Enterprise LTSB, being both functional in terms of updates, having all features and full control AND having the most annoying things like Cortana removed.

Unless Im missing something.

Okay so seemingly it does tie your advertising ID to your account rather than just the local machine.

Still, people are such babies these days they think a default setting means they can never change it. Anyone who's too lazy or retarded to turn it off deserves all the snooping they get.

If you're talking about the one where he pulls 2 full size PNG screenshots after running an "RSA Decrypter" on a packet that's barely a kibibyte them you should probably leave /g/. If not then carry on because yeah windows 10 is botnet trash. Active hours is the most autistic thing I've ever seen in an OS. Makes computers useless for productivity when "Your computer could restart at any time" is the rule while Active Hours is the exception. There's only about 4 hours I can guarantee I'll never be working due to my crazy work schedule, which should be plenty. But I only get 12 and for the other 8 hours it's a total toss up when I take a fifteen minute break. Half the time when I get back it'll have restarted to update, and just closed anything open. And the most retarded thing about that is that it KNOWS I have unsaved work. Open up a word document, type some crap, and try to shut down or log out. Windows won't do it unless you take care of word first. So when it's restarting randomly, it knows full well you have unsaved work open and it restarts anyway.

Thank goodness this semester is over and I can go back to home sweet home Gentoo full time again. Thanks for reading my blog post leave a comment below and don't forget to like and subscribe.

Win10 is absolute shit. I'm going to keep using win7 and chromeos, and maybe become a macfag. That's how much W10 sucks. Hell, you'd waste less time making a linux distribution useable than trying to make W10 kinda sorta useable for 10 minutes before all your parameters are reset to candy crush

It's called windows 10 because you can only use it for 10 minutes before not only something, but literally everything goes wrong

It's fucking trash. I kind of want to uninstall it for windows 7, but that's a lot of effort and frankly my understanding is that windows 7 privacy is just as compromised as windows 10. And at that point, what's the fucking point? Especially when support ends in 3 more years.

Fuck this sucks, maybe I should still do it and just start GPU passthrough when I can afford it

windows 10 gave me so much cancer that I switched to linux. I was an advanced windows user and it stuffed so much crap down my throat I spent more time fixing than using. Linux solved my problems.

It's good other than the EULA and spyware shit.

Still very buggy, randomly forgets settings, randomly installs crapware, pushes adds even if you turn off the options for it, the store apps run and feel like if they're virtualized or running in an unoptimalised sandbox... The entire system is like a spyware/adware platform disguised as an os.
>>
I really dont care what kind of marginal improvements it brings, everything about what it is and what it does is awful.
Been using linux for some months now, much better.

I like it. I like the improvements to the new start screen, W10 apps run great on a beefy enough system, Metro in general is lightweight and easy to interact with on both tablet and desktop, the Mail app works flawlessly with my company's Exchange even. There's definitely lots of optional data collection, but i have a windows phone so it doesn't bother me all that much.

So when you turn that off, it shows ads, and when you turn it on it shows ads?

You proved your point there.

Why you guys always have the whole fun with Windows 10 and my copy at work still didnt encountered any of that?

Its not fair ;_;

inconsistent design
shit-tier file indexing and hard drive usage
retarded menu splits
insane dedication to compatibility with previous programs - I'd rather have a smaller OS than winME compatibility on a consumer product
muh store

Despite all of this, binaries and DX compatibility make it worth using over OSX

Hey, Cortana. (doesn't work)
Open notepad. (IE opens and bing searches Open notepad.)

Total garbage.

Um, are you meaning OpenSSL, or is OpenSSH revealed to be awful too now? I thought it was pretty secure, as long as you use good algorithms, two-key authentication and good passphrases.

Any recommendations for which ISO to use? This is the one thing that has been keeping me from trying W10, is I need an ISO that has the botnet pre-stripped from it.

You mean the Anniversary Upgrade Peasants where Microsoft in effect reinstalled a new operating system instead of properly updating it. Proof? The existence of Windows.old folder prior to 30 day deletion.
