Yes our professor had us extend java classes to be nodes in a linked list instead of writing a generic list for all types we had to extend each class and add a next and prev pointer. What kind of faggotry is this 80's style c programming practices?

Never had to read that book. I had an awesome professor for my R classes. A very well known person in the R world.

my professor was doing something on his computer while we had to read a 2-3 pages pdf and do a couple of exercises learned nothing waste of time

Had a professor in college who'd have us do virtually the same programs for the entire semester, just with the superficial requirements changed. They weren't even challenging, nothing that would make you think outside the box. Just programs that required a lot of plain validations for user input, storing stuff in memory or files, and showing said stuff.

The worst part was when he gave us code for a program and asked us to extend its functionality. His code was so horrid (from not following the language's basic standards to just straight up doing stupid shit), I was either forced to use hacks to make it work when I was lazy, or rewrite the entire thing myself when I was feeling like I could put up with it.
