Cause my monitor died and I thought it was pretty nice.

NEC FE990 (Cathode Ray Tube)
>1600x1200 @ 75Hz with wonderful CRT color
>Can do 144 Hz or more on the lowest resolutions
>Can do 240p to play retro games at the original resolution with sexy scanlines.
>Can scale every resolution you throw at it without "skipping" pixels like an LCD would
>>
Samsung 23" 1080 16:9 60hrz
Cause i found it for cheap on kijiji when building my comp.
If i had money i would buy a 4k 16:9 or ultrawide in a heartbeat tho.

Acer k272hl
It was cheap and I'm satisfied with 1920x1080 60hz. I'm planning on getting 2160x1440 in the next 2-3 years if 27"-30" monitors with that resolution get a bit cheaper.

HP 27vx and some random Acer monitor.

Acer monitor is the old one I had before upgrading to this one. Got it because it was on sale and looks decent for the money.

Wanted to try out the Ultrawide meme.

I like it but bigger would be better, I just don't have $1300 for something truly great like the PG348Q
>>

because i didn't want to settle for anything less and i just bought it. monitor has some ugly ass ghosting/artifacting under extreme OD but it's tolerable while playing games. i definitely turn it off for browsing though.
i'll probably buy a 4k tv sometime in 2017 once 40' IPS ones become affordable.

is there a curved, IPS, ultrawide, 3440x1440, 144 hz monitor?

Too low for me to not see the flicker.

I have pic related 1536p85.
It'll also properly break up 240p but aperture grille lines look wrong to me except for a few arcade titles that sort of had the same look.

I fell for the 144hz meme but at a very discounted price, my graphic card had some serious fucking problem with that refresh rate so I had to scale down to 120hz. Don't regret it a bit now. It has some color problems straight out of the box and the blue filter is somewhat too aggressive, Nothing some tinkering can't fix
>>
>>58088119
Forgot my reason:
-I have an nvidia gpu and play the occasional game, so gsync was appreciated
-less than 1440p wasn't gonna cut it for productivity
-ultra wide was more of a spontaneous decision because I had more money to spend on it than expected. But I can say it's a beast for productivity, because split in half, both sides are still slightly wider than square

>What monitor do you use?
LG 31MU97-b
>Why do you use it?
It was the only flicker-free >30" 4K wide-gamut 10-bit IPS panel at the time of purchase

(The main competitor was dell's 32" crap, but it had a PWM-driven backlight and no thanks to that)

pic related, although I've since stopped using the secondary monitor and just use the 32" exclusively

I don't need a powerful machine as my desktop; I essentially use it as a thin client, which is what makes an all-in-one so appealing.
>>
>>58088304

what bug? I have the U2414H and sometimes it goes into deep sleep and i lose all my unsaved documents
>>

How the hell does your monitor affect anything on your machine?
>>
>>58088595
He can't see his desktop and because he's a GUI shitter that means he can't mouse the mouse to the ‘save‘ button
>>
>>58088609
And it's impossible for him to turn the monitor back on without rebooting his computer?
>>
Asus ROG Swift PG279Q
>>
>>58088621
Yes, see
>GUI shitter

“turn it off and on again” is basically the only solution windows users have to most problems
>>
>>58088627
Using the GUI nor the CLI shouldn't have any impact on your ability to turn on a fucking monitor. Hell it has nothing to do with the computer whatsoever, you just push the damned power button. You are beyond autistic.
>>
>>58088586
It has this thing where it goes dark for a milisecond. Just a single "antiflicker" every so often.
Has been acknowledged by DELL, nothing to do about it.
I haven't found it matters during any kind of use. I just wish it wouldn't.
>>
>>58088651
>Using the GUI nor the CLI shouldn't have any impact on your ability to turn on a fucking monitor.
Not causatively, sure, but you can't deny there's a correlation. GUI shitters are braindead monkeys who couldn't reformat a floppy disc if they had an instructional youtube video
>>
>>58088715
And you're a brandead bigot
Isn't it strictly the computer that tells the monitor to go into sleep mode?

I'd rather be a braindead bigot with the ability to navigate my computer blindly and/or SSH in from another device
>>
>>58088674
At least it's only that bad. My PlayStation TV will randomly flicker off for anywhere from a split-second to 3 seconds, sometimes doing this 5+ times within seconds to minutes. Sometimes it'll just shut off with the power LED still green and I have to disconnect the power to get it to turn back on.

>>
>>58088595
>>58088621

The monitor doesn't come back on even if you physically remove and insert all monitor cables again. It just goes into permanent "energy saving mode" where you are truly fucked until you reboot your computer.

my next monitor will not be from Dell I can tell you what
>>
>>58088763
Well I made the typo myself. Te argument is sound.

>>58088756
Well depends greatly on what kind of a user you are right? The "blindly" thing is a little specific, but yeah I get the SSH show.

You're still an asshole though. The fact that you'd need these "extraordinary" fixes for something that just shouldn't happen says something.
>>
>>58088790
That sounds infuriating. How old is it? It's clearly broken.
