The update process needs some improvements, for fuck's sake. It's annoying to find out there's a new update every time I start a torrent. If I start a torrent, I'm not partial to waiting to install the update. These last few days have really highlighted how asinine that is.

µTorrent 2.2.1 has numerous security vulnerabilities that were fixed in subsequent verions. You are willingly using outdated, insecure software. You're also using a version of the client released post-buyout.

>>
>>58056276
You have no idea what is contained within those 391KB, especially since BitTorrent, Inc. has ties to the MPAA and RIAA. You do realize µTorrent was bought out prior to 1.7, right? Anything after 1.7 can't be trusted, and using software that's both outdated and post-buyout isn't very smart from a security standpoint.

But anon, µBotnet can sometimes have 3 updates in a single day. New minor builds with nothing changed besides different ads.
Just because you decided to stick with an old version doesn't change that fact.
You are free to stick with any old version of qBittorrent and disable updates there too.

>>
>>58057866
µTP may be 10 years old, but it wasn't added to utorrent until two years after utorrent was bought out and it came into existence. Magnet link support wasn't added until 2008, two years after the buyout.

Just because there has been no new development in the past 10 years doesn't mean there never will be new development. At that time, utorrent 2.2.1 will not support that development.

>Built in search for torrents in the client(ut3.0 has that and it's 1MB)

That's the only thing ut221 doesn't have.
I can tracker sort and create torrents with bigger pieces.

>>58058055
>sequential downloading and preview
Sequential downloading works BETTER in 221 than qbt+(smoother sequential downloading, not skipping so many pieces)
I don't have to manually choose to sequential download every torrent, it does that automatically, AND I get sequential files meaning that if I get a season It will download ep 1 in sequential order so I can start watching it right away! qbt does that?!
AGAIN ut 221 not the latest.
Also ut221 supports adding search engines from sites inside the client.

>>58058071
>a built-in webui, extended RSS support.
Whatever extended is suppose to mean... in 3.0 qbt rss was worse than ut221, idk what extended is suppose to mean since ut221 doesn't miss anything.
ut221 supports webui

Everyone knows that 2.2.1 is the preferred version. If you're going to get someone to use your software, it's better they're using an older version than a competitors software. It's like what microsoft said about piracy, if they're going to pirate something it's better they pirated your software.

Don't forget about it deleting and rechecking entire torrents on each startup if they are few hundred GBs in size, which is pretty standard for RAW bluray collections or TLMC
>>
>>58057986
>he thinks that there are only peers when STALLEDtorrent connects, and that it not connecting means there aren't any.
It's called STALLEDtorrent because it won't connect when there ARE peers. A torrent that is sitting there dead in qBittorrent will often start up in 2 seconds in uTorrent.
qBittorrent has something wrong with the way it connects. I can load the same single-peer torrent in qBittorrent and uTorrent 2.2.1 (with both clients showing connectable), start it in uTorrent and watch it happily download, then stop it and start it in qB and watch the peer's IP show up for several seconds before dropping with nothing transferred.
Stable peer to peer shouldn't be rocket science, but it seems to be above the heads of the qB developers.

qBittorrent seems to be on the level of uTorrent 1.4's connectability, IIRC. uTorrent finally got it nailed down with 1.6, which was a dream after all the instabilities prior.

For qB to be in development 10 years and still not have the basics down is pretty sorry.

Bloat-wise, sure… It was "the last good version" so to say.
But 2.2.1 has known performance issues with some newer SSDs and can have I/O errors on some modern setups.

It's also not the best idea to use a software with KNOWN security holes to connect to thousands of thousands of random machines on the Internet.

>>
>>58065604
probably not, but if you have a choice between 64bit and 32bit, always go 64.

who could be behind this post?
>>
>>58065736
Probably some 14 - 16 yr old who downloaded uTorrent Pro CRACKED using uTorrent Free from public trackers from a non verified/trusted random uploader from some shady torrent site.

meme packs
>>
>qbittorrent
>download speed decreases proportionally to your set upload speed

try it, download something and play around with your upload speed
>>
>>58065780
I often have my upload limit set to 50kb/s and I still get 25MB/s down with no issues.
>>
>>58065780
WTF it deleted my oscars 200GB torrent. FUCK YOU
>>
>>58065780
Yeah It does punish you for purposely limiting your upload speed.

"Dude wtf share all your upload bandwidth, SHARING IS CARING! You're not greedy scum are you, give but not take? OF COURSE NOT RIGHT!??"

Apparently they say all clients do this as it's got to do with uTP but nope it's just qBittorent that does it for me.

Devs ignored by questions about it so I stuck to uTorrent 2.2.1. Fuck freetard elitist retards.
>>
>>58065492
I said post something related to 2.2.1.
I'll wait.

>I've been using it for the past year
3.3.10 dropped yesterday, so pretty sure you haven't been using it for a year.
Poor connectivity was confirmed to still be present as of 3.3.7. I'm not going to check every release to see if they fixed it because qB has no killer feature that I'm waiting on. It's something I'll check maybe every six or eight months to make sure I'm not spouting an outdated meme. The release notes have been devoid of any mention of any connectivity fixes, so it's a good bet they're still present.
>>
>>58065955
let me clarify, I've been using qbittorrent for a year. I just dont get how its affected only a small number of people compared to the entire userbase though.
>>
>>58065955
i think it mite b sometin with yor pc cause i never had that problem
>>
>>58066145
What makes you think I have one PC?
qB vs uT 2.2.1 on an X2 5200+ running XP? Winner: uT 2.2.1.
qB vs uT 2.2.1 on a Phenom II X4 945 running XP? Winner: uT 2.2.1
qB vs uT 2.2.1 on an X3450 running 8.1 N? Winner: uT 2.2.1.
qB vs uT 2.2.1 on an i5 4670k on 10? Winner: uT 2.2.1.
qB vs uT 2.2.1 on an i7 3770 on 10? Winner: uT 2.2.1.
>>
>>58066325
I guess it's something wrong with your isp then. never had the problem myself. proud qbitorrent user
>>
>>58066325
>windows
found your problem
>>
>>58066339
If an ISP can drop qB traffic and not uT, that sounds like an issue with qB's management to me.

>we got a ut shill here kids, take a good luck because they are a dying breed. a year or two and they might be extinct completely. take all the pictures you want. look how desperate he is, just look! amazing! however, clinging to his old ways is what made his kind go extinct. it's kinda sad, really. okay kids, lets go, let him rest.
