How come AMD's own software can't tell what graphics card I am running? It only tells you the series, not the actual card. I had to open up the case to find out (it's a 280X).

How did you not know what card you had?
>>58017702
You are fucking retarded.

I built it nearly three years ago. Only time I opened the case was to download more RAM a couple of years ago. I don't really gaymen anymore desu so never had to push the card much

what could possibly go wrong

Idk, probably because that is the most detailed info available to the OS apart from core/mem frequency, memory type and amount etc.
Also how do you like the 280X? Ive been using my 270X for over 2 years and still love it.
ATi has no drivers

It's fine. Don't game a lot but it can play most things at high (maybe not ultra) settings at 1440p. Bit noisy though. I was thinking of upgrading to a 1060 or a 480 but seems like they are not much better, plus I wouldn't really use it

280x's were the best bang for the buck gpu a year or two ago.
i ran one then two of them. think they were going for about $150. they're great 1080p cards.
