It really isn't that hard. The futaba style of message board is stupidly simple to implement.

1. lainchain is the only one I rarely visit, you get used to how "fast" is 4chan, there is like post and check the thread every other day, like /t/ or /diy/
2. as easy as download files install on a web server, set up your boards and done
