Trump loves to humiliate people that are better than him. Look at Romney and just last night Ryan. If you like Musk this should probably be horrifying to you because of how bad a businessman Trump is. It's like he could come out of that meeting with some form of "business aids."
>>
>>58001219
Thats because trump got shit on hard by Obama and ever since hes had a fetish for humiliation.

nobody in his right mind doubt for a moment that trump would surround himself by smart people. he might be a clown, but he's first a successful entrepeneur.

Idk if you've done any sort of research about the man but I think it goes back to his childhood he was a notorious bully growing up that made his father send him away to a sort of disciplinary school.

Also when he was bankrupt and the banks he was invested in decided to bail him out instead of dissolving his assets he made them wait while he brought in a box of his books and signed them each and gave one to everyone in the room.

I really don't know but this upcoming administration is going to be one of the most bizarre since Nixon.

He already tanked 2 major defense contractors stocks through his twitter account. I think alot of people underestimate the power of the office of the Presidency and that kind of helped him get elected. People's laissez-faire attitude is definitely not helping.

I'm not sure what he's doing there. The F35 doesn't fulfill the role of the sorely needed but expensive to fly F22. It's not like the F22 program can be restarted in a few months and the USAF has been looking to cut fuel and flight costs.
>>
>>58001619
both of the programs are failures no matter how much someone tries to justify it...
f35 its like a windows 10 infested with a gazzilion of malwares

>>
>>58001642
Of course, they are. It's just that the F22 can provide air superiority while the F35 can't. The whole two separate engine development programs is a mess as well. Then there's the LCS.
>>

idk either the program has had its problems but has been running smooth as silk of late. It feeds into the Russian narrative very nicely.

He didn't even get the price tag right. It should be a redflag to any american business right? The fucking incoming President just straight out lying on twitter fuck me.

Either it's a big troll which is likely to detract away from the shit he gets himself into on a day to day basis or Flynn or Mattis has a bone to pick with the program.
>>
>>58001709
f22 suffers from the same problem f117 had..its not really stealth on the L band especially if the enemy already has 3d aesa radars...
its good for shit and giggles small counties and such but if they go against russia and china well..its gonna be a duck hunt
>>
>>58001747
f35 is created to replace f16..
and it cant do any of the roles f16 was good at..
it cant carry enough missiles because "hurr durr im a stealth"
it cant carry enough bombs because again its "hurr durr"
it cant carry any of the know sub tactical missiles or even tactical ones because "hurr durr im bored as stealth"
basicly its a fucking lego plane that can only be good for jamming inferior planes that doesnt have aesa radars..and nothing more

He's a brand because in private he's a very charming man that will tell you anything you want to here.

He's ran his businesses into the ground so he has to delegate to such an extreme degree he doesn't really have much say in what they do. Which in turn makes him very spiteful and vindictive because he only has the illusion of control.

>>
>>58001862
actually it is true its pure physics the bay isnt big enough to even be filled up with 1/4 of what the f16 can carry on a typical cas or sead mission..
and you cant really install any pylons because then the plane wont really be stealth...

and despite all of that... the fact that none of the export versions of the plane will get the ram material pretty much elliminates the reason behind its development..

Yes, some people are informed. There is a big difference between being a good businessman and being profitable/successful. I doubt his many many investors and business partners who lost everything would call him a "good businessman".

He is highly skilled at coming out on top at the expense of others who trusted him. People think that when he's the president we'll all be "on his team". But we're just another set of investors/partners, who have a good chance of ending up with the shit end of the stick. Good luck to us.

>>
>>58005849
Sure thing, reddit.
Look up the most lefty biased source you can. Go ahead. Trump has had 4 businesses file bankruptcy, and all of them turned around.

Bankruptcy 1: The Trump Taj Mahal, 1991
Bankruptcy 2: Trump Plaza Hotel, 1992
Bankruptcy 3: Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts, 2004
Bankruptcy 4: Trump Entertainment Resorts, 2009

None of these are personal bankruptcies, they're chapter 11s filed for these specific individual business entities. Trump himself has never been anywhere close to bankruptcy. He literally owns and operates over 400 businesses, and only 4 of them have filed for bankruptcy, afterwards they became profitable again.

Telling people to do research when you have literally done none is the epitome of leftist hypocrisy.
Its a shame he actually isn't the second coming of Hitler because I'd love to see you thrown in a camp.

The fact of the reality of the world we live in is, if you're born in a family with money you will maintain your wealth, if you're born in a family with no money you will maintain your status of poverty. There is no social mobility in the USA or most of the world.

Trump was born in a wealthy family, he maintained his status. It is easy to get loans and investors when you have lots of money because it projects the illusion that somehow you know what you're doing, when in reality, Trump failed to pay back his loans and promises to investors, and that is his pattern of business, when your reputation is "you better get paid up front" then you are a shitty business person. But somehow he gets sucker investors to go along with him, probably because if he fails they will end up with some prime location real estate.

>net neutrality
"net neutrality" is such a fucking meme and any of you dorks that take it seriously are fucking idiots wasting your time.
The idea of ISPs charging for better access to some sites over others is only around because of the regional monopolies they hold mainly thanks to municipalities not allowing different ISPs set up shop. So instead of fighting for "net neutrality" people should be fighting against the monopolies and no competition agreements that ISPs have.
Shit holes like Romania have much better internet service at much lower prices.
>>
>>58006907
>Why do you think America's allies are not happy

Because they're going to have to pay to get NATO protection, have to renegotiate trade deals to reduce the American deficit, lose money from taxing American companies in Europe by reducing Americas corporate tax rate and reducing the rate on repatriation while doing a lot of other things economically.

Basically Europe doesn't get to leech off of America anymore which means they can't afford to be the socialist caliphate.

>>
>>58007215
Even though you have the know how, you will get paid less money than someone doing exactly the same job who happens to have a college degree. He didn't maintain his wealth. He went from a multi-millionare to a billionaire.
>>
>>58006981
I agree with much of your sentiment that the real problem is lack of competition, but the two objectives are not mutually exclusive. Comcast, Time Warner and the like are an important contributor to the current crappy Internet system in the United States and their dominance should be challenged in every area possible, but challenging the existing companies' monopolies is a battle which takes much more effort in the current, heavily lobbied system than ensuring they follow certain common practices. Most companies would still have a financial incentive to throttle non-mainstream sites even in the abscence of monopoly because the idea of a "fast-track" is attractive to non-ISP web companies willing to make enough important agreements with smaller businesses. Taking down the labyrinthine system of lobbying is not at all a simple task, and net neutrality serves as an effective measure in the current environment while working towards larger goals. I pushed efforts in several counties in my home state of Montana to reduce regulatory barriers for new ISPs using the model of how Google Fiber entered Austin and Kansas City (useful example of how it can be done despite how evil Google is). Fighting each local government requires sustained organization that is hard to come across nowadays, though.

>>58007014
I don't support open borders/high minimum wage, though. I'm not sure why you assume support of net neutrality necessarily implies that.

>>
>>58002446
Trump and the Repubs are against net neutrality regulation because they think it gives regulatory power to the government. Sure, they can be hypocrites when it comes to regulating business, but the principle is right.

It's not even the real problem at hand anyway.
>>58006981

>>
>>58007537
Yes, I agree with most of that as I explained in >>58007481. I still think it's important to secure net neutrality regulations as a kind of bare minimum because challenging all the local governments is not easy, but the battle almost certainly does have to be fought at the local level to truly end our crappy ISP system. His statements about privacy are the most concerning to me, as well as the lack of understanding you can't just go about "closing that Internet up" that his comments on freedom of speech entailed. That was nearly Dubya-tier.

Sorry, I should have been more clear I was referring to corporate lobbying. Citizen's/workers/non-megacorporation lobbies, etc. are of clear use. It's not necessarily immune to the influence of ideologues, though; Soros and Falwell are/were both ideologues and extremely effective lobbyists.

That doesn't make it inherently good, it simply means that if you can't afford to lobby then you have no say so in government, and it leads to a large democratic deficit in government, it is a unfair advantage to those with little to no disposable money for lobbying and only creates advantages to those with large economic interests, and they generally don't need extra help to stay in business since they're usually lobbying for subsidies.

>If I have an egregious amount of money and bury it in treasury bounds, in twenty years my wealth will increase, it doesn't make me a smart business man.
The "money" he inherited was in the form of an existing business. The most obvious way to tell you're an idiot is that you think it was all liquid assets when it would've taken decades to liquidate what he received from his father. Oh, and it would have devalued quickly once he broke the business up.

What eyeballs of debt? It cost me 30k to get a CS degree and I was hired against my own will. I was literally badgered by a pajeet into a job that pays a little over 50k right out of college. I just shitpost on my phone for half the day because they can't even find work for me other than some minor bugfixing.

fuck no, im not going to get into debt if i can help it. so called "debt management" is an illusion of control over your life. When you're in debt you have no control over your life.

Yea, that's why Facebook was making money from day 1. Fucking debt-taking assholes have no control over nuthin.

Facebook didn't make a profit until 2009.

> somehow he gets sucker investors to go along with him

This is really the secret to his success, though. Hes an extremely persuasive salesman. He managed to get four seperate rounds of investment capital into his never-above-water casinos even while they were failing AND he was pulling millions out of them as "salary" and using them to fund his absurd lifestyle. He does genuinely have the charisma to get people to do what he wants even when they have to be fucking crazy to do it.

The issue isnt whether he's a "winner", its whether anyone else around him can avoid being the loser. We're already seeing that as he positions himself to lift sanctions on Russia from which he can personally profit tremendously but will be detrimental to US interests. We're all his investors now.

>Basically Europe doesn't get to leech off of America anymore which means they can't afford to be the socialist caliphate.
As a Hungarian immigrant living in the US, this is spot on. Europeans love to shit on the US as being imperialistic while middle class Americans both pay for and serve in the military that provides Europe with a security umbrella. Fuck these freeloaders.

I can't wait for the Nordic/Scandinavian welfare states to collapse due to demographics, immigration, and declining oil prices combined with an aggressive and belligerent Russia in the Baltic/Arctic.

F-35 has gone into full retard mode.
But the original plan was pretty grand:
> F-16 but with stealth!
> Oh wait, the French are building that.
> Oh fuck, how will we even compete with modern Raphales?

And then began the feature matching of the Raphale.

And then the Royal Navy and US Marine Core wanted VTOL planes. So why not fold that into the project as well?

It's just fucking bizarre.
>>
>>58001805
If you're willing to sacrifice stealth because you're bombing hadjis in tents, it can carry missiles and bombs.

If you need stealth, then the F-35 can at least get some weapons on target. The F-16 cannot, since it'll die.

It gets new missiles, which had to happen at some point, which can be good or bad.
>>
>>58009417
You sound retarded. Do you talk like this in public?
>>
>>58009490

You literally have no clue what you're talking about.

> Muh security umbrella.
That's part of the Marshall package. The US gets to control the seas. The Europeans have to dismantle their empires. The Europeans have to open their markets to American goods. (This was at a time when the Americans had an industry that was untouched by war, and Europe laid in fucking ruins.)

> Nordics not serving in the military.
We have the draft here. Fuck off.

The only thing that's changed is that the deal is now no longer 100% in the US' favour and now you faggots want out?
>>

>>
>>58009798
>The US gets to control the seas.
This has nothing to do with the Marshall Plan and is simply the result of the US fielding the world's most powerful blue water navy.

>We have the draft here.
I'm assuming you mean conscription, not an active draft? Either way it doesn't matter, you could have 100% of you population serving in the military and it still wouldn't amount to any meaningful deterrent. Hell, France has one of the largest militaries in the world, much larger than any Nordic country, in both asset size and expenditure, and they couldn't even keep up the Libya bombing campaign for more than a week before needing the help of the US.

>is now no longer 100% in the US
So you're actually asserting that Europe received zero benefit from US military spending since the end of WWII?

We are in for 16 rough years. Tea party is going to get remap the districts after the 2020 census and Dems just dumped the upcoming leadership. They don't even understand why they lost.
It's a shame that our technology will be used against us. People will need to adjust without triggering monitoring systems.
The various conflicts with China will mess things up a bit. But with the environmental collapse it won't matter as much when we create more resource jobs in the US.
The next iteration of "radical" Islam won't reallly affect us too much as the US won't need Saudi Arabia very much by that time.
I just want our civilization to last long enough that I don't have to consider eating my cats as emergency rations.
