I'm getting a little full up on physical space to add on more storage, but I've got surplus income to throw into an online storage solution.
Security/Privacy issues aside (I'll be encrypting uploads locally), is this the best option?

Is there anyone using this service?
I'm using it because it's dirt cheap.
You have the option of uploading files through their uploader program or through your web browser. Both methods are absolute unreliable shit that constantly spit out errors when uploading large files.

I use encfs along with acd_cli. Works well. Rclone runs on a cronjob every night to upload new files. Maxes my servers 250Mbps link and I've uploaded 30GB sized files without issue.

I am using it so far two weeks in and I've uploaded 85gb. Large files are 7zip with password and split into 1500mb filed because privacy.

i've uploaded over 200gb of porn encrypted locally with duplicati so far. it depends what kind of content you'll be uploading though
there was a story recently about a plex user with 8TB of encrypted copyrighted material getting their account terminated for sharing illegal content

Either the person was retarded and uploaded their key or it was for sharing. Amazon watches access rates. It's not normal for a user to read a dozen files simultaneously. Seeding torrents from the mount isn't a good idea.

Big deal, and a big problem for cloud services. Here's your source: https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/4j5fsi/after_storing_over_8tb_of_my_films_and_series_on/

The third option is a third-party program through their API.

/r/datahoarder (yes, I'm telling you to fuck back to reddi this one time to find more ACD users)

Good idea, that's standard procedure.

Amazon Cloud Drive understands a lot of users take advantage of the unlimited system, and they're happy to run it at a loss so they can use the data and metadata metrics. The likelihood of them looking through your files in particular depends on your usage: more data - more scrutiny.
There's also a trigger with ACD based on data pull.

Wish you the best OP. Consider Backblaze or your Uni's Google Drive if they have one.

Thanks for your input. Think I'll give the free three months a try. I'm gonna mirror all my current storage profile so I think it's worth a try. Thanks for the reddit link too, not a reddittor.

Hmmm that archive split thing might make uploads a little more reliable. Thanks.
