People willingly give their personal information to Google. People continuing using a service that they're dissatisfied with instead of mass migrating to alternatives, so that Google ends up on a net loss (assuming of course that the average person is dissatisfied with Google's stance on privacy; which I assure you they're not).
This being the case, why should Google care? They'll continue cataloguing your information and turning a profit for as long as they can get away with it. In fact, I assure most Google employees/execs actually believe they're doing the world a favor by providing convenience to us.
