There are two possibilities.

If it was his idea he would sell it wrapped in some innane bullshit how it transcends and shifts the paradigm of the popular compunting universe, or something equally incomprehensible. It would be a financial success.

If it was someone elses idea he would bash it into the ground, where it arguably belongs, and would jockey for power citing it as the worst thing imaginable for computers and computer industry ona whole, earning personal gain.

The Wii U has shown that using a device with two screens in different angles is a usability nightmare

touch screen or variations alone could NEVER replace a physical keyboard.

all touch screen games that try to mimic a controller suck ass, because theres no physical feedback.

imagine typing an essay or playing something like LoL using a touch screen, pure cancer.
>>
>>57984711
So once touch screens have tactile feedback they'll replace conventional buttons?
>>
>>57984711
m8 I don't know what field you are in, but honestly that is fucking bullshit in our modern days.
No matter how much you Thinkpadfags want to keep trusting your dead machine multitouch keyboards with haptic feedback is the freaking future. One of these days the technology have been perfected enough for it to give the same sensation of a traditional keyboard, and once that does happened you will see a drastic chance for laptops in general.
>>
>>57984754
i dont think thats enough desu.

you need that physical frontier you get with physical keys, people depend on it to write fast. even if its just a small feeling of the neighbor keys to the one you're currently pressing is enough for your brain to map the keys in their place and keep a steady pace.

at least for gaming, fast writing, or when you're coding and pressing millions of shortcuts all the time.
>>
>>57984841
>give the same sensation of a traditional keyboard
well if we do reach a time where haptic feedback gives 100% the same (or even better) feeling as a keyboard then sure..

until then tho.. not even close.
>>
>>57980799
Sadly you're right. Hopefully Apple can get their shit together and make a good computer again.

A company that big does not go bankrupt easily. Even a relatively small one like Lladró (very known ceramics figurines in the 80s and 90s) has recently been sold to a investment fund, as it has been effectively dead for years now. Nobody with the Lladró surname owns it anymore, and the company reports loses year after year. They might close an liquidate it, they might take it in a different direction (unlikely), but "going bankrupt" is just something companies past a certain size don't normally go through.

Apple will only disappear if it is consciously closed and liquidated. Otherwise it could be acquired or it could fade into nothingness until someone bigger bought it (remember who made the Voodoo GPUs?), but not going bankrupt.

Also I doubt it will be in your lifetime (unless you live to your nineties). There is a lot of capital and assets to chew through before that has to happen.

Mr.Wozniak invented the worlds first viable Home Computer. Lots of dedicated and talented people made Apple Computer brilliant. Not just the technical and design people either.

Apple RODE on what Woz and the Macintosh team did after Woz left and Steve was forced out.

Apple died when Steve Jobs died. Apple are now trying to guess where Steve Jobs was going to take Apple NeXT in terms of Hardware and Software.......

That's simply not true. They would have to make consistently terrible decisions which alienated or removed the trust of customers for years upon years upon years without moving in to other markets in the mean time, which they'd do in a flash.
>>
>>57988121

Apple donated thousands of Computers to Education. IBM never did that.

"Welcome IBM"

In 1977, Apple invented the "HOME" Computer Market.

In 1981, IBM invented a Monochrome piece of crap......

It had about as much use as a Commodore PET.

Fucksakes........The ZX Spectrum with 48 KB(1982) had more functionality than the IBM PC.
>>
>>57988233

Apples Market Share is small compared to Microsoft in the Computer Market. But with an X86/x64 Processor any OS can be installed on it.......

Microsoft are dead in the gaming Market because of Sony by a factor of 10.
>>
>>57988303
>In 1977, Apple invented the "HOME" Computer Market.
That isn't true, it was the Apple II, TRS-80 and PET together that created the home computer market.
And the C64 became the all-time king of the home computers.

I don't know why you bring IBM machines up.
Or any of this really. Jobs did fucking nothing to create these machines and wanted in Woz's own words just "feel important".
>>
>>57988453

Funniest thing is Samsung, Nvidia and Intel get away with blatant overpricing too due to the same shitty marketing practices mentioned here, but /g/ crusades against the possibility of that even being true.

Judging companies (and products made by them)by business practices, consumer treatment and product quality/performance is something really alien to /g/

Another funny thing AMD's GPUs have been massively outperforming Nvidia in GFLOPS pet Watt aswell as per dollar for the last six or so generations, but have shit driver overhead at release which makes them perform worse than Nvidia at release, while 6 months later the performance is equal and between 1 or 2 years after card release the overhead is nearly gone and Nvidia starts gimping the card slowly, leading to the same AMD card largely outperforming the Nvidia card.
Most people will judge in black and white on this, but it's really simple, if you want to buy a GPU and keep using it for 2 or more years, AMD is a better GPU for your use case, whilst if you want to run the latest and greatest and don't mind buying a new GPU nearly every gen then Nvidia would deliver way better performance for you.

This might be simplified because I left out 3.5GB card, gameworks, false directx 12 support, AMD being horseshit on Linux etc, but the point I'm making is that /g/ is incapable of accepting that 2 competing products are equally good and both have specific scenarios in which one would be way better than the other.

Tired as fuck so excuse the length of my post.
>>
>>57990513
I bought a 1060 because your reasoning, which I read a few times before, was based on a hope. I'd have to pay more (480 costs more than a 1060 here) for a worse card hoping one day it would have aged like wine.

And macOS sucks. I'm not on a crusade against Apple, I just don't like the stuff they make any more than Windows.
>>
>>57990617
Not exactly based on hope, the HD 7000 and the 200 series aged like fine wine, my R9 280 scores higher on benches today than back when I first got it, and also scores higher now than back when I last upgraded something (which was RAM btw, which shouldn't even matter on a GPU bench)

Then again, Linux usage is a good reason to not use AMD GPUs unless you want to game in a VM, in which case an AMD GPU plus CPU actually provides amazing GPU pass-through, though this is an even more specific and niche use case

As for Mac OS, I'd recommend tech illiterates it any day if they are willing to pay the price, since it is really a lot better for casual users than windows, on the other side I think it has major improvements over windows which are all shared by Linux, while the major issues with it are usually not shared with Linux.

Windows 10 is shit though, they took 7 and fucked it up, only improvement is DX12 (the boot times don't count, that shit's using a cheap and nasty hack to look like it boots faster)

Friendly reminder that the US government waits for a crisis to hit some IT company, which is then forced to dodge taxes or do shady shit to survive, after which the US government moves in and offers them to close their eyes and let them dodge taxes if they comply and provide data for their customers. That's why the IT sector is growing so illogically without providing products to match the insane market capitalization, and that is also why all the top companies eventually transform into profiling botnets, as proven by endless leaks over the past decade. Ever wondered why would Microsoft illogically push their retarded telemetry that basically clogs up the system to the extent that it is impossible to disable it unless you block it through hosts? Now you have your answer.

that kepboard looks awful.

i dont get why people buy macs anyway, they nonstop remove features and offer weak, paid for alternatives. you cant even connect an ethernet port to a new macbook? you cant connect headphones to an audiojack? meanwhile my $200 laptop has
.proper ventilation
.a useable keyboard
.7 hour battery
.a trackpad thats equally as good, just without gestures
.proper mouse buttons
.all the standard ports (hdmi, other monitor ports, aux in/out, 3 usb ports)
.the list could go on
sure the perfomance is weaker, but its 1/12th the price of a mba (aud) and actually works without overheating

For the price youre getting nothing valuable bundled with a weak operating system. sure you can install linux or windows though, so its a slightly null point

I feel like Apple is just doing all the stupid shit Steve Jobs rejected while he was alive, and everyone's paying the price for it.

>walking right into it

Jobs did make some insane decisions over the years. The refined Steve who returned to Apple was not the same man who founded it.

That said, I don't think he would have fallen for memebar at any time in his life.

Are you shitting me? That's the best design decision Apple ever made.

>Wozniak was the real man at Apple.

Kek. Woz was a great engineer, but he had no vision. If left up to him Apple would have sold Apple II's until the 8-bit PC world died and they went the way of Commodore, Tandy, etc.

And that's assuming he would have made an Apple Computer and not just a circuit diagram for a monthly newsletter so other people could build their own Woz computer.

Steve Jobs had many flaws, but he did have vision and an ability to see his vision through to completion.

>Also, Lord Stallman himself said Jobs was not this great man american media want you to believe he was, isn't that enough?

Sounds like sour grapes from a man who is pissed the world doesn't see in freedum and command lines.

>Jobs did fucking nothing to create these machines
Macintosh was shaped by him. NeXT was his vision. He shaped or was directly responsible for most of what came out of Apple between his return and death. iPhone and iPad literally created entirely new markets and they were his babies.
