I've been using Firefox for so long
But since v52 the sound stopped working and I've been waiting months for a fix

I've also been checking Chromium but I'm very concerned about privacy issues.
And I don't wanna stick with an old version of Firefox.

>>
>>57978900
The browser is already insecure enough to warrant updating everyday

Look dude, if you lack common sense it's your problem.

I've been rolling with 38esr for years and I've yet to get a single threat of any kind.
>>
>>57978894
I second this, Pale Moon is pretty decent.
>>
>>57978858
What do you have against trees?

If you're using Linux, starting with version 52, Firefox needs PulseAudio for sound.
>>
>>57979033
That fucking sucks I'd rather install other browser than PulseAudio.

Why should they want to do this/why did they do that!?

>>

>>
>>57979181
Vanilla Firefox will eventually catch up and fuck everyone anyway
>>
>>57978550
Un-googled chromium or iridium.
>>
>>57978550
Is Firefox still making ESP versions or watch ever they were called ? If yes .. I guess that's your best bet.. Updated for security but tested to werk
>>

Oh ESR now I remember sorry
Also

You must be a special kind of snowflake
>>

It's an abandoned project
>>

Waterfox only does that when you use Ecosia, otherwise, it´s a prety good browser
>>
>>57979573
What does it do differently?
>>
>>57979585
https://www.waterfoxproject.org/#develop

Basically it is a Firefox for x64
>>

I'm gonna give it a go, it better not be a chinese botnet or a placebo

Literally /thread.

OP is a retard
>>
>>57979614
Firefox x64 already exists, anon

Is Iridium gud?

I installed Chromium from woolyss with chrlauncher, but it stutters a lot on 4chan with 4chan x installed.
>>
>>57981375
Yes.
>>
>>57979614

Newsflash: this already fucking exists.
There is literally zero excuse / reason to use Waterfox, Cyberfox etc. nowadays.
>>
>>57978550
firefox
>>
>>57978550
FF 53 working fine here.

But if you really want to use Chromium you can get ungoogled-chromium.
>>
vivaldi or pcxfirefox

>>57983603
It still tells me to install PulseAudio

Dillo, Links2 or Netsurf.

all addons for chrome work flawlessly
pretty happy with it

>>
>>57983725
Yes. Firefox removed support for ALSA since the maintenance process was a convoluted and burdensome one. PulseAudio is required now. You can fix the problem by taking 30 seconds to install it but if you're really adamant about not wanting to install PulseAudio then you'll have to make do with ungoogled-chromium.
>>
>>57978550
will opera give me similar battery lyfe?
>>
>>57979009
>>57978894
third.
been using it over a year now, it´s good.
>>
>>57984159
Firefox 50.* still works fine with alsa, gentoo provides a use flag to enable pulseaudio support but the default is still alsa.
>>
>>57978550
Just use firefox developer
>>
>>57984851
That's what I was using
It's already on v52

I'm literally fucked because vanilla firefox fucks me with the signed addons bullshit and dev/nighly dropped alsa support
>>
seamonkey

I want to use Pale Moon but Classic Theme Restorer doesn't work with it and I can't be bothered to learn how to code to reduce the size of my tabs bar
>>
>>57984717
I was talking about FF 52 and up. OP explicitly said he doesn't want to downgrade Firefox. Besides sooner or later vanilla FF is going to hit 52 anyway.
>>
dwb is the best, try it faggots
>>
I don't know if I stay with Firefox, or go to Chromium (from woolyss, lkgr one).

Or even Iridium (the problem with Iridium is it's outdated).
>>
>>57987712
We are fucked, the is no escape.
>>
>>57978550
Just use Ungoogled Chromium, you stupid tinfoil. Firefox these days is less secure than most browsers anyway.
>>
>>57989221
>wanting basic features to work without being dependant on terrible 3rd party software tinfoil
