I have been given a 256Gb Crucial SSD. What are the benefits of installing Linux on this compared to a VM in Windows 7?
Convince me /g/
You can finally move over to a real OS

Faster boot times and faster loading of programs/files. You can just move Win7 over along with the VM though.

Debatable. It depends on what the person does with their computer. There is no OS that everyone will want to use and never will be no matter how hard companies try.
OSX/macOS does really benefit from a SSD though. I recently swapped in a mSATA on my hackintosh and cloned over from a 7200 RPM and its now insanely snappy.

Cucked by a fucking operating system, jesus christ you Linuxniggers are stupid.

So how can I open selected file with spacebar? Where are tabs in file manager? Can I change login manager?

It'll run far better than if you ran it in a VM. Linux already has trouble with window tearing when you're using x (Which you almost certainly would be.)
Having it in a VM just make it even more obnoxious. I remember before trying Linux on real hardware thinking that the tearing was so bad so as to be a deal breaker.
