this shit worth waiting for?
we'll find out when it arrives
Always wait for Zen

wait for zen2
its the duke Nukem forever of cpu's
the gen after Zen will be twice as cheap and on par with Intel, it will be a fucking revolution of cheap Chinkotronics just you w8
The fact that tomorrow's Zen event is an esports thing worries me greatly
>>57968042
NO. It's shit.
>>57968042
Even if it doesn't beat Intel in raw performance, if it's anything close to what the information we have right now would suggest Intel will have to start pricing their stuff competitively again and that will be a good thing for even for those who don't buy a Zen.

It may or may not be OK, but it's not as if anything made by Intel since Haswell (if not earlier) has meant jack shit.
The performance won't be revolutionary compared to what intel has out currently, but it ought to bring the prices down some. So it sort of depends on whether you're willing to buy an Intel CPU and how much performance per dollar matters to you.
WAIT FOR ZAMBOOPI
Tomorrow
I just want a cheap 8c/16t cpu at 3ghz.

Better than waiting for Sandy bridge n23

This shit has made me so much money
>>57968263
That is the best target demographic for it tho. Tech savy people already know about amd. It is the average build my first pc gaymer that needs the sell on why they should buy amd over intel.
>>57968042
I am. Unless it is total shit (unlikely) I will be building a midrange budget build with zen and a 480 to replace my old i5 with 280 build.

The top Zen CPU is supposedly offering performance close to the 5960k for half the price. Even if it's a bit off behind, it could lead to a nice price cut for Intel CPUs, just for competition's sake. So even if you don't want a Zen, Zen could be good for you in other ways, as a consumer. It's one month. If you held out this long, you can hold out another month before upgrading.
