Why the fuck do I need to look at a man page to decompress a tar file?
search the Internet for this very question:
>read the man page
The man page? So I have to remember all this shit so I can run this program once every 3 months?
How hard is it to implement a extension checker and automatically pick the normie options?
But Hurr durr you're too dumbe RTFM
READ THE MANUAL
TO UNCOMPRESS A FILE (in 2017-1/12)
As a Linux user, this upsets me.
> tar -h
> tar -xf or whatever you want
Its just 2 seconds or install any gui archive

# display usage if no parameters given
echo "Usage: extract <path/file_name>.<zip|rar|bz2|gz|tar|tbz2|tgz|Z|7z|xz|ex|tar.bz2|tar.gz|tar.xz>"

give this man 4chan gold :D
>>57966268
Just get a gui, sounds better than adding normie things to cli
Or just install atool and you get aunpack and apack and shit like that.
>>57966268
Linux still doesn't support drag and drop to external devices. It uses fucking symlink and you need to eject it manually to start the copying, which have no percentage output by the way. Don't even try to walk away either because the completion pop up disappears within 3 seconds.
>>57966339
>not using atool
one day people will learn
also quote your variables god dammit
>>57966540
Seems more like an issue with your file manager than Linux itself. Drag and drop just werks with my Android phone.
>>57966669
This. Basically just use atool and make and extract alias, easy as that.
That >>57966339 is a really old one and only works with one archive at time.
