Are HDDs completely obsolete now?

Not for archiving purposes and price-to-capacity
Nice meme fag
>he fell for the ssd meme
Not until pricing parity is achieved. you tech illiterate cock smoker.
>>57955231
yes,i mean they are not something you want to use because it is comparable to ssd.
It is now just cheaper tech, that will be gone in few years completely.

The answer to this should be quite obvious. HDDs still offer a much better price/capacity ratio, as such they are the superior choice when capacity is valued over speed, such as storing content that is accessed infrequently and doesn't require high-speed random access performance either. Pretty much any sort of media file falls into this category if you're just storing it and playing it back occasionally and all sorts of documents for home use.

I can't wait to have a reason to build a PC around a 2TB m.2 ssd and 10TB HDDs. Anime in 4K when?
Once I can get 4TB SSD for $100 HDD will be obsolete

No, still too expensive.

You can do that with either, it doesn't matter.
Self encryption just has a small speed benefit on SSD's.
All you need is enterprise SSDs
