I'm a complete beginner to Linux and i want to know which is the best distro to use ?
>>
Ubuntu 16.10

All of them. And use each for several months each.
After that you will be qualified to voice an opinion in threads like this one.
>>
>>57951401
PCLinuxOS (easier) or Slackware (less easy, but more pure Linux experience). Avoid systemd (i.e. most "major" distros at this point), don't let the cucks who have given in to it convince you otherwise.
>>
get a junk laptop and just install arch or gentoo, you will learn more than you even care to know. play with that for a month and it'll give you an idea of what you want in an distro

99% love systemd

Wrong. Poettercuck and his immediate companions love systemd (or maybe they don't, knowing everything that's inside it), some were fooled into liking it, many just don't give a fuck, and most who ended up using it are stranded with it because major distros switched to it based on politics rather than on actual merit.

Solus.

>works good
>easy to work with

>>57951532
Well, not exactly 99% on all of them, but somewhere around there

Do you really want to change your OS?

yes

>cites two polls that were obviously manipulated by bots

Why not cite that poll with over a million votes for systemd? Lol.
>>
Ubuntu if you want most of your vidya and ease of use
Fedora if you want the latest software and don't mind sucking Red Hat dick
OpenSUSE if you have a decent computer and want a Windows 7-like experience
Debian if you hate updates, want freedoms or want a bit less of handholding
Arch after you used one of the distros mentioned above
>>
>>57951615
Not bots... People love systemd why else do you think nearly all distros prefer it?

Kevin, please.

No, they don't. You are either deluded, or are a shill.

If they consider a systemd distro, then they might just as well stay with Windows. systemd is turning Linux into what people who left Windows for Linux many years ago had been escaping in the first place.
>>
>>57951747
Systemd is not turning gnu/linux into windows.
And the one guy who left windows because of the init system was an even bigger idiot than you right now.
>>
>>57951623
>nearly all distros prefer it

This is a blatant lie. Fedora and Red Hat obviously "prefer" it given that it originates there. CentOS and other Fedora/Red Hat derivatives had no choice. Debian adopting it was a huge controversy, the majority opting for its adoption was minimal and a large number of Debian contributors left the project in the wake of this. Arch and SUSE adopted systemd, but also not without controversy, and on political or superficial convenience's grounds rather than on real technical merit. All distros being forks or derivatives of the above were forced to follow suit. Many if not most entirely independent distros such as Gentoo, Slackware, PCLinuxOS, Puppy, AntiX, Void etc. etc. didn't adopt it to this day, and aren't planning to.

>systemd is turning Linux into what people who left Windows for Linux many years ago had been escaping in the first place.
Oh god, the fucking melodrama you anti-systemd clowns project is pathetic. Systemd is far from perfect but it's nowhere even remotely close to being the clusterfuck that Windows is.
>>
>>57951860
>Gentoo, Slackware, PCLinuxOS, Puppy, AntiX, Void
You could have summed this up more succinctly by simply saying: "Hipster Shit".

>>57951791
>calls people "idiots" because he has no actual arguments

"Linux is becoming the thing that we adopted Linux to get away from."
http://blog.lusis.org/blog/2014/09/23/end-of-linux/

People who avoid systemd like a plague know way more than you do, and know exactly what they are doing, while the likes of you usually just jump onto a bandwagon because that's what they consider the easiest thing to do. Maybe not all, but I'd say most of them.
>>
>>57951913
>namecalling because no actual arguments
See >>57951931.

>>57951913
>Fedora/Red Hat/CentOS is obviously on systemd as they made it
>SUSE, Debian, and Arch adopted systemd on political grounds and not without great controversy
>all of their derivatives/forks had no choice but to swallow systemd as well
>"all the rest who didn't are hipster shit"

Do you see the nonsense now? Anything based off Fedora, Debian, SUSE, or Arch (which is the vast majority of total distros) "adopted" systemd merely due to a domino effect and not because they had any real choice. That's the strategy Red Hat in general and Pottering in particular picked, to "conquer" the few "major" distros and thus force systemd onto most of the ecosystem as a result.
>>
>>57951931
you did not bring any arguments.
You claimed that systemd as essentially windows and that the person should stay with windows instead of using something with systemd. Both those statements must be coming from an idiot.

And are you pissed that systemd is easier to use?

The article you posted is the first "arguments" you have brought, so lets look at them:
>binary logging is bad you guys
I have yet to hear a good reason why this is.
You can still read them in less, cat and grep.
Now you have another way to read them, so you can find information easier.
>change is never good
Fair point
>it is too immature
It works fine, is easy to use and is well documented in spite of only being 6 years old, but I agree that we need more testing on this area.
>Poettering made it
Poettering has made a lot of things for the linux desktop and he is willing to do the unpopular if he is right.
Avahi and pulse audio are both huge successes, even if there were issues in the beginning.
>bsd support
Do we really care about this?
The files are easy to read and converting them into another format is not impossible.
Most people use linux anyways.
>>
>>57952167
>pulseaudio
>success

and you call that other guy idiot?
