How can I go about finding a programming mentor? Everyone who has ever filled that role in my life has faded away and I'm totally lost on my own.
Where to find people who aren't entirely self-absorbed, corporate-wageslave wannabe expert-beginners or delusional autistic lisp enthusiasts or opportunist conmen? I'm looking for someone who knows what they're doing but doesn't claim to know everything; an optimist who has exercises a healthy amount of cynicism; and, if I might be so bold, a friend.
