Make sure it got Samsung memory and not Micron (in GPU -Z). If you got Samsung then you did fine.

with nvidia Asus is fine
but they fucked up AMD cards, reuse heatsinks not specificly designed for the cards...

otherwise I would say its a decent buy

stop it with this fucking meme. what made asus crap back in the 290 days wasn't the heatsink, it was the fucking awful DEFAULT fan curve. quiet mode was the default that allowed the card to hit 90c but performance mode, the OPTIONAL FAN CURVE, the card hovered around 78c.
