What's the best IRC client and why is it HexChat?

Textual
I wish it was on windows and linux because it has
>Full color emoji support
>inline video embedding
>better looking fonts

>postulating an initial open ended question then changing the question to one that seeks validation for your own opinionated answer to the initial question disregarding that the initial question is open ended and has no definitive correct answer
IRCCloud, because it acts like a proper phone app with modern features, and I don't need to set up my own bouncer.
ChatZilla is better.
IRSSI+SSH
Irssi, of course. Everything else is full of bloat.

How can I customize the desktop notifications on a per-channel basis in hexchat if it is so good? Are there any addons/plugins for this? Why doesn't it let me copy text selections without using the shitty X based copy-paste?

irssi
But there is annoying issue with irssi. It can't join channels with a comma in them because it uses a comma as a separator for multiple channels.
So if you're trying to join a channel named #a,b and do /join #a,b irssi will join channels #a and #b.
what gee channel on freenode?

Comma in channel names? This is not part of the spec, anon:
https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1459#section-4.2.1
>>57928740
I know, but I stumbled upon a server with a channel name containing a comma and I couldn't join it.
It was #0,0 on ftwr.in
>>57928798
You're lying.
Btw, I meant to post this URL:
https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1459#section-1.3
>>57928848
You can easily check whether I'm lying or not by connecting to the server and joining the channel.
BTW, I use exclusively irssi for IRC.
