Windows BTFO
Windows is FINISHED
How will Windows EVER recover?

Why would anyone want to use a shell that's the programmatical equivalent to a designated shitting street?

Can you programmatically navigate a GUI in bash?

I don't think someone with your English skill is able to get a job that pays 6 figures. Unless of course you are talking about some third world currency.

Just wondering, do you get paid to think? Because I do. 6 figures.

My current turnover is currently at 7 digits. But my fresh workers probably earns just as much as you do.

I maintain that Windows 11 will be a Linux distribution. Windows 10 will continue to be the "normie" OS but Windows 11 (it will be called something else) will be the thing they market to people like us.

It's already being tested in Azure Cloud Switch.
>>
>>57925216
Powershell's actually pretty good, but I don't think Linux needs it

Beating cmd isn't exactly hard.
But, they did manage to make a shell syntax that's uglier than Perl. That's an achivement in itself.

Sataya is actually doing pretty damn good at recognizing MS needs to accept opensource isn't getting killed and making its tech available to what best developers use and pray to Vishna it sticks.
>>
>>57927147
I agree. It's not bad, but it is insanely restricted compared to bash. Too heavily tied to object oriented paradigms and as a result making quick hacks is tedious as fuck, which is exactly what shell scripting is all about. Over-engineered.
>>
>>57929527
What are the quick you're talking about? PS supports aliases, short parameter names like -d instead of -directory, cmdlets can be used as arguments for other cmdlets without doing explicit pipelining, PSreadline module adds more extensive inline editing features and can be customized further.

Powershell is way more powerful than any bourne shell variant...

It can actually do arrays without hitting yourself in the head and you don't have to rely on something like expr for math
>>
I feel like powershell is as powerfull as premium pils beer is premium.

System Recovery
>>
>>57927775
Epic post bro, haha!
>>
yeah I don't know why a developer would use windows these days. Unless they just prefer to be cuckolded.
>>
>>57930709
You mean why a developer would target the most widely used OS with best tools available instead of something that's on it's way to nowhere?
>>
>>57930725
Define best tools.

shell scripting is cancer anyway, just use a proper scripting language at this point.

Jesus fuck, that ofuscated C-like syntax.

There is a reason nobody does bash scripts anymore

Not being an obsolete and annoying to use piece of shit

>>57930576
You don't have to be explicit about "write-output" because it's implicit. Same with array markup @(). If you want type safety then simply signal the type like this.
[int[]]$array
>>
>>57932135
Have much better support for non-latin characters and not being absolutely crazy about escape characters.

Yes, yes. We have Bash on Windows and Power Shell on GNU/Linux and Mac OS. None of it matters. I've been seeing these threads for months and none of our current operating systems are changing in big ways or disappearing. These are small changes and they don't fucking matter.
