the set up looks more excessive than it is.

but the choosing of a tube amp and the over shielded cables are signs of autism.

The fuck is drone and doom metal?
>>
>>57914271
Your question is lacking a pronoun.
"What the fuck is Drone and Doom Metal?"

Drone music,[3][4] drone-based music,[5] or simply drone, is a minimalist musical genre[1] that emphasizes the use of sustained or repeated sounds, notes, or tone-clusters – called drones. It is typically characterized by lengthy audio programs with relatively slight harmonic variations throughout each piece. La Monte Young, one of its 1960s originators, defined it in 2000 as "the sustained tone branch of minimalism"

also, the type of wood you use matters. looks like these fucking idiots are rising their cables on mahogany or something stupid like that. cedar is infinitely better for tonal purposes

>>57907706
Really, the only crazy things in there are the power regenerator and the macbook. The power cables are overkill but I can see why he's using them when he has a power regenerator. You actually have a reason to shield them with that.

Otherwise it's just
DAC
Amp stack with separate PSU instead of 1 case
Headphones
Digital Coax in

That's pretty typical.

How ridiculous it is depends entirely on the cost of all that and the internals.

>>
>>57919919
We vibrate, we vibrate, we are reborn.
The goal of molecular structures is to plant the seeds of gratitude rather than discontinuity. This life is nothing short of an unveiling quantum leap of mythic synchronicity.
You must take a stand against suffering.

It can be difficult to know where to begin. Have you found your mission? Being, look within and unify yourself.

We must learn how to lead eternal lives in the face of greed. The multiverse is approaching a tipping point. Imagine an awakening of what could be.

Without divinity, one cannot vibrate. Yes, it is possible to eliminate the things that can confront us, but not without inspiration on our side. Turbulence is born in the gap where knowledge has been excluded.

Who are we? Where on the great circuit will we be awakened?

We must change ourselves and fulfill others. It is a sign of things to come. Eons from now, we messengers will heal like never before as we are recreated by the infinite.

We exist as expanding wave functions. The infinite is aglow with ultrasonic energy. By blossoming, we believe.

>but you could probably get 99% of the quality of his setup by spending less than half as much.
I'm absolutely certain you could get measurably better quality for a fraction of that money. This isn't about fidelity, it's about finding whatever sounds the most pleasing in that moment without it having to even relate to audio reproduction. Unless they are running some signal processing(which I highly doubt from a person with a setup like that), it's going to sound like music through HD 800s anywhere mixed with whatever cognitive biases he is constantly under. The only thing which might make some audible difference is the output impedance here but HD 800's high nominal impedance will make it a rather small one.

>diminishing returns
Stupid concept given how subjective value is.

Do the original PlayStations have supernatural audio or something?

Why do people use them.

Yeah but since people here possess about the same level of gullibility, source criticism and knowledge as your average 6moons reader I had to point it out.

>>power cord is thicker than garden hose
The power cord looks like it is as thick as the ones on my 30 amp APC PDUs. Something makes me think a headphone amp doesnt draw 30 amps at 208V.

This makes me feel good. Maybe audiophile is for me.
