You can't really convince the average person (especially American - I'm from Chile, and I have been to America - the average person there doesn't give a FUCK about privacy; they look at you like some deviant if you do), so a movie in this case is extremely helpful to the cause of getting people interested in their privacy. Make people angry about this, and if said services don't want any people to leave, they have no choice but to conform. This whole thing will work better with companies than it does with companies. "Hey, if we make our shit more private, maybe we'll get more clients. It's worth a try, right?".
