>Federal Communications Commission member Ajit Pai yesterday vowed to take a "weed whacker" to FCC regulations after President-elect Donald Trump takes office, with net neutrality rules being among the first to be cut down.

You really want the telecoms to be writing more regulation for themselves?
Unless you're a fucking moron you'd know that all regulation in the US government is written by the very companies it's trying to reign in.
>>
Government control is a noose around a neck. Less control the better for the average man.

Where are the proofs?

What regulations do you actually want, OP?
Where does it say they are going to get rid of those at?
What are you going to do about it besides shitpost on /g/?

Stop pretending the problem is regulation. It isn't. The problem is lack of separation of corporation and state. That's why regulations are exploited. Regulations are only and always beneficial when done correctly.

Trump is literally trolling his voterbase

Regulations are usually worse than the problem they're trying to address, especially when telecoms are writing them.

People though Trump was anti establishment and pro small business.

Economic freedom also means embracing the possibility that you can lose your job because Pedro in Mexico does it for 20% of your salary.

His corporatist promises were more in the general direction of fascism (that's what federal control of the economy with nationalist background is). Not saying that fascim is per se bad in all matters, but Trump is not a libertarian.

It literally has only existed as a law for about a year in the US (which is what we are talking about in this thread in case if you didn't notice). Seriously, look it up before you talk about shit that you don't know about. The FCC hasn't actually been able to enforce net neutrality until 2015, there were several attempts to make laws enforcing it before that, but none passed.
>>
>>57904915
Yes, it's been a giant battle over the whole issue. That's why I'm shocked that you're focusing on this one fucking law, like it's the whole war we've been fighting.

And now, with the new FCC appointment, it's likely to only get much worse for those who value freedom on the internet.

But that's alright, because in the whole year that we had some sort of law in place, it didn't make anything better for you personally, so it might as well be scrapped, amirite?

>That's why I'm shocked that you're focusing on this one fucking law, like it's the whole war we've been fighting.

I'm focusing on this one fucking law because its the fucking law that everyone in this thread is talking about, what are you not grasping about this, it's literally the only law in the U.S. that enforces it, and it has been around for only a year, but every one is insistent that things are going to get a million times worse with out it EVEN THOUGH IT HAS DONE NOTHING SO FAR. The main crux of everyone's argument is that it would make the internet cheaper somehow. You claim to value freedom on the internet, but you're perfectly fine with the same federal government that runs the highest level internet spying agency in the world enforcing that "freedom". The best way to enforce net neutrality is to enforce high competition among providers, not by limiting and confining them to certain regions like federal and local laws currently do. but all corporations are inherently evil and can't be trusted so the free market must be limited, amirite?
>>
>>57901318
There is literally no point to this thread this whole site is cock sucking Donald Trump 24/7. Trump could make his supporters sissies and pimp them on the street and they would still clap wildly because deep down that's what they want.

>but all corporations are inherently evil and can't be trusted so the free market must be limited, amirite?
You're literally an idiot if you don't think this.

We put restrictions on governments for the exact same reasons.

As for the government 'running' the internet. Aside from the fact that the government actually owns the root servers of the internet, they don't actually run it because they really can't do anything but cut it off at the source. Which is really noticeable, and disruptive.

But Comcast is another matter. Comcast owns the infrastructure in its area, and with the death of net neutrality it CAN affect a measure of control over it that's actually greater than the government, by putting every content provider who doesn't pay their extortionist fees in the slow lane (or, ya know, competition they want to just plain hinder).

And no not everyone is going on about the law. Many of us are going on about how the FCC appointment is anti neutrality in totality, and will likely go beyond taking down one law, to even grosser abuses.
