Does anyone has these? Are their any practical use for them?I heard you can't even watch youtube on them!
They are fashion accessories. They are pretty pointless but nice to own (if you don't care about money).
Rich kids toys.

those all look like shit tbqh
>tfw you own a pebble 2se
anyways, the main use of them is to be an extension of your phone. i can read and reply via voice to texts, get notifications, control my music, etc.
smartwatches are just extra convenience. generally everything they do, your phone can do, but it's much easier when you don't have to pull it out of your pocket.
there's also a ton of support for fitness shit on smartwatches that a phone can't do solo tho. i doubt anyone here cares how many steps they take or their heartrate

No.more pebble, fitbit bought them out. As a result I'm not getting my time 2.
if they'll ever come down to a reasonable price, for a e-ink or android wear device, I might get one.
In case you didnt know, the pebble smartwatch costs $15 to make. (MSRP $99)
Apple watch costs ~$80 (msrp $350)
All the manufacturers are making sure they're not losing any money by keeping super high prices instead of risking anything and trying to take the market.

I dont mind taking my phone out, it's something I want to do anyways and voice dictation kinda sucks.
The practical uses I see for it is mostly work where using your phone isnt allowed/Is looked down upon, to keep boredom at bad and see notifications, during meetings for example. Another situation would be back when I played airsoft, that kind of rough environment.

yeah, i know. it's pretty heartbreaking. pebble was really the only smartwatch i was ever interested in. great battery life, doesn't look like something from a low budget sci-fi film, and a solid developer community. i've been suggested garmin watches, but i think i'll just sit out and watch the market hopefully collapse.

i find myself using it constantly. the voice dictation works flawlessly so far for me.
Got a gear fit 2 when my dad bought a Samsung bomb 7. It's decent enough. Quick notification access for texts and stuff, tells time, counts steps and whatnot. Battery lasts multiple days.
I'd never pay more than $100 for something like this though.

I bought an Apple Watch just the other day so I can't properly judge it yet but I like it a lot so far. Just having notifications on my wrist alone is super handy, and the fitness tracker is pretty good. But like that other anon said, it is mostly a fashion accessory, like all watches. But I feel like this is way handier than any normal watch I've ever owned.
I have an ASUS Zenwatch (original model) and will eventually upgrade to another AW device.
Google keep + ambient display allows for phenomenal cheatsheets during exams.
It is pretty useful overall but for a stem student the Google keep abilities are probably the best way to sell the device. A friend recently purchased one of the more rugged AW models, can't remember which off the top of my head.
