Is Kat gonna return some day?

no, stop using centralized trackers

What's the best alternative out there right now? Nothing is good from what I've seen. The copyright cartels finally are winning the war against piracy by slowly degrading the quality of the torrent network.
And don't fucking say private trackers. I don't have the time or the autism for that and if I wanted to pay money to pirate I'd just buy the damn content. I do have 1 private tracker I use but it's only for pornography.
Niche things like ebooks and audiobooks are especially hard to find. KAT used to have just about everything you wanted.

DHT and magnet links
IPFS
Freenet
What somebody needs to do is build a proper distributed search engine / indexed for the bittorrent DHT. Sort of like what tribler did except get people to actually use it

Just get iptorrents, build a bunch of buffer off freeleech torrents, then you can hit and run whatever you want.

You're missing the point. Private trackers, public trackers, it's all the same fucking thing. The server will get taken down and you will lose your content. The end
If you're running an illegal operation, STOP FUCKING USING CENTRAL SERVERS
jesus christ, it's really not that hard people. Every single power-hungry criminal keeps making the same mistake over and over again

When private trackers get shut down new ones pop up just as fast. Once you get into one it's easy to get into others as long as you're willing to do the work. If you put in no effort you don't get the security but you still get to leech.

Use TPB and not worry about downtime. Or use qbittorrent's search feature that can search multiple trackers.
