What's the difference between vim and neovim?
>>57885333
vim actually works
both suck, Their dumbass supports will say that there shortcoming can be fixed with this or that plugin but the plugins for them also suck.
how much of a turbo autist would I have be to want to use this on a daily basis?
>>57885333
neovim has all the cruft removed and is more easily scripted in languages other than the immensely terrible vimscript.
with neovim it's finally possible to run stuff in the background, such as syntax checking or compilation. with vim, everything blocks the entire editor.
>>57885600
neovim works perfectly with all plugins I tried
it has a sane codebase compared to vim as >>57886095 said you can eun yasks in background
transition to neovim gives you a good oppurtunity to reevaluate and optimise your vimrc, thou its not mandatory, just copy it to .config/nvim/init.vim

Emacs is the best for programming, from what I've seen.
Vim has long been popular with sysadmins, because it works quickly even if you're in a situation where your server is under ridiculous load and your bandwidth is so cramped it makes you long for a 300 baud modem.
Emacs has a learning cliff that can make a man cry, but if you get good with it, there is no substitute. I've seen emacs experts who could fly through code like a fucking wizard and do crazy complicated editing stuff like it was nothing.
Brakcets is best.
Now fuck off and suck my anus and fuck my balls.
emacs should just start slimming down already
put all the weird funky shit in ELPA, like doctor and tetris

oh yeah and stuff like Gnus should definitely be separated
everything that has alternatives should be removed
