Went looking on amazon just now because I'm pretty sure my one is on the way out and I'm going to be in the same boat as you pretty soon.

Found this, no idea if it's any good or not, but it looks nice.

I've owned about a dozen different alarm clocks and this is the one I keep coming back to. Does everything I need it to and shines the time on the ceiling for me. I'm unsure if it's still in production but I would recommend the brand (Oregon) pretty highly.
>>
>>57871137
Wait nevermind, thought it must be good because it had 4 star reviews but there's a bunch of 1 star reviews saying it isn't shielded and it blasts out phone interference even when the radio isn't on in the middle of night, top kek.

We get it, you use your phone, we are all aware that that's an option. OP was clearly asking for examples of dedicated alarm clocks.

Tell me if I'm living in stupid town and this is just a crazy fucking dream /g/

I want an alarm clock which plugs into my wall, charges up fully over 6-8 hours, then lasts on battery for as long as I'm out of the house (sometimes 2-3 days). It needs to be able to stay illuminated while I'm at home, and have the ability to go dim or turn off the display entirely while I'm out (without losing time). Nothing that uses disposable batteries, something rechargeable.

Right now I'm using some stupid Bush ipod dock clock which resets itself to 00:00 every time I turn off the power. Can anyone recommend me something like I've described?
>>
>>57871189
Either your phone clock is off or your alarm clock
>>
>>57870694
>>57871097
>>57871198
Not OP but I find phone alarms super easy to accidentally dismiss while half asleep.

Dedicated alarm clocks usually have a big snooze button and a smaller button in a different location to disable the alarm. Works much better IMO.
>>
>>57871215
why tho?
>>
>>57871259
Probably the phone clock.

1) My clock (>>57871189) shines the time on my ceiling which is ideal because I don't have to move an inch to check the time.
2) Aesthetics. I like having a physical unit that tells the time.
3) I try to limit my dependence on my phone. As great as my phone is, I don't put all of my stock in it. If my phone dies then I still have an alarm clock. I don't lose everything in one fell swoop.

There are apps that will have you complete challenges before the alarm stops. For example you can set it up so that you have to scan a code (which you print out and place e.g. in the bathroom). Or just do some maths.
>>
>>57871336
Some of us have jobs anon, just because you can miss a day of school because your arduino alarm clock fried itself overnight doesn't mean all of us can.
>>
>>57871374
Phone alarms can also effectively be disabled by turning the phone volume down.
>>
>>57871374
Eh, I guess that would work.

I just like having a physical alarm clock because I know it's pretty much 100% reliable. I wouldn't trust an app made by some random guy as my only alarm because it could easily crash overnight or I forget to plug my phone in and it dies etc.

How does an alarm clock go out? Ive had the same one for a decade and its still fully functional. All it does is beep.
>>
>>57873282
Switches starting to wear out, each button takes like 2-3 presses before they register.

Rest of the internals are still working fine though.

>>
>>57874269
How close are we talking for interference?

Would it be perfectly fine ~50cm away?

That's how far my phone and my current alarm clock are at night.

Or is it so bad you'd just avoid buying it altogether?
>>
Go to thrift store. Find one for $5 or less. If you're lucky, you might find some sweet clock radio with wood grains, if not actual wood.

My house regularly gets it's power tripped and despite that clock having an internal battery to save the time in such an event, it doesn't actually save the second thus causing the minute to "round down", becoming a full minute slower everytime there's a power trip.
Just a minor annoyance but easily fixed by just manually setting the time every so often.

No idea what's with the white noise/RF interference problem people are getting.

Got mine as a gift, would recommend/10

I use the Sleep Cycle app on my phone as my alarm but I use this clock for time. It looks really neat and modern on my desk, it has 3 different light levels, and it changes automatically during Day Light Saving time.
>>
>>57873709
I own one, it stays on all night.

My phone, and I don't snooze. Snooze are for pussies. Once the alarm sets off, I would immediately stands up straight and begin singing the national anthem with pride and honor

What I want is an alarm clock with two different alarms that also have weekday schedules.

We can't give the kid a smart phone, if he gets his hands on one then his homework doesn't get done because he instantly spends every moment that he's not being directly watched playing games on the phone.

But he needs an alarm clock that wakes him up in the morning and another one that wakes him after lunch. Currently his mother does it nearly every day but it would be nice to have a reliable clock to do it.
>>
>>57871633
This fucker
>no sleep function - you will have to wake up
>it rings until you are deaf, or deactivated it
>always a nice fresh heart attack in the morning
>already riced af, no nsa radio, speakers, microphones etc.
>minimalistic design
>cheap as dirt (no shills allowed)
>solid, dosnt break. You will habe that thing years.

>>
I have one of these. It's good overall but I'm the type who will get used to any alarm clock and have the same issues. The vibrating thing is nice, helps to wake me up.gets pretty loud too. I do a combination of that, running 4 tabs kukuclock on my laptop assorted randomly, and then using my phone ring tone as my alarm and setting it to repeat every 5 minutes. I'm like a comatose sleeper. But then I also only sleep 5 hours a night so that probably does it.
