Also, you can just open spotify on chrome with adblock and you will not get ads.

For the app you can block the ads servers on the host file (or hosts on Linux).

Is not rocket science.

If you use the web version any adblocker will work

Haven't looked back since. It also allows me to completely avoid using Apple Music on my iPhone and iPad. Some stuff is missing but overall the pros outweight the cons so.
