Windows 7

Not that happy with it but it's the lesser evil of all the choices. I'd use Linux 100% of the time if it could give me full performance out of my hardware.

Tangential note: I think if Windows 7, 8, and 10 had allowed much more ricing Linux would not be nearly as popular on /g/ as it is.

Yeah, I'm switching to a Trisquel/Libreboot system. I don't use the power of my Ultrabook so I'd rather have an older system over which I have total control
>>
my OS (TLT) plays up to three pre-recorded, user-selectable phrases and has a functional, intuitive interface with a three-stage volume control function. i use it because i was impressed with the manufacturer's suggested 'eight to eighty' age range; although advanced users may find the lack of customization options frustrating. in summary, i don't think i'm ready to switch just yet - i'd suggest improving the phrase capacity/variety in future revisions, while maintaining the damage-proof hardware design.

Ubuntu for my PC, Windows 7 for my console.
>why
Linux as a personal desktop because I'm not an American and I don't want to enable their government's global espionage. Other than that I get access to some better tools here and everything I do is smoother.
Windows 7 because AERO looks beautiful and I don't want telemetry and permanent bloatware to rape my hardware and network as it did on 10. Obviously, it's entirely dedicated to gaming, though I do play some games on Linux if they're available.
>are you happy with it
I'm happy with both. They both have minor problems but I can deal with them.
>do you want to switch
I don't "want" to, but I would switch if I found better alternatives. I'm not actively distro hopping so it's unlikely I'll switch from Ubuntu soon. As for Windows, I'll probably never switch to 10 but if I ever need to abandon 7 I'll just use 8.1 as the final Windows version I'll ever install.

Work in progress. Supposedly Crossover has support for DX11 if you're willing to buy it. The purchase gets you professional support too.

How? I've been running plex for a few years and never had an issue.

What's wrong with it? It boots as it should, you shouldn't be messing with it otherwise unless you know what you're doing.

>I do play some games on Linux if they're available.
Protip: you can install the SteamOS components on any debian-based distro. I did this on my desktop since the default compositor in Ubuntu sucks ass for playing games. They didn't add a proper logout function to switch between desktops so you have to CTRL+ALT+F1(F2, F3, whichever) and kill the steamos components to get back to the login screen.
Easiest way to kill is "kill -9 `ps aux | grep steam | awk '{print $2}'` "

>I'm thinking to try a Linux distro like Arch or something that's not bloated like Ubunto or Mint.

Arch is a terrible choice for a new user. Ubuntu isn't nearly as bloated as /g/ makes it out to be. If you install the server version and Gnome3 you should be able to run it on an old P3 or P4.

highly indifferent.
>>
>>57854688
>Which OS does anon use?
Windows 7

>Why
Because it has the best usability out of all the currently supported Windows OS's. 8 finds a way to break anything for no reason all the time and I hate everything about 10 from inner working to fundamentals it was built on.

Mac is too damn expensive and apparently apple is going full retard. Linux is too much work to get how I want and even then it can't do properly even half the stuff I can do with windows. Yes, that means games. ENTERTAINMENT. Reasons why I'm not into narcotics, etc.

>Are you happy with it
As happy as can be. Admittedly it's tech-wear is showing a little when compared to 8 and 10 but I'll manage.

>Do you want to switch?
Sure. I'd love to get away from this but as other options are as they are, I'm not yet ready for that kind of commitment.
