I have a redmi 3s, it has an unique design, has weekly updates (hell, even the 1s still gets updates to this day), and the botnet problem was on chinkawei and other chinkier brands

I'm very happy with the phone. It's fast, the screen is excellent, camera is good, fingerprint unlock works flawlessly. Doesn't crash, doesn't lag.

Great phone, MIUI ks sleek, but has some bloat. Otherwise it's perfect.

When I went to unlock the bootloader though, I had to create an account on a chinese forum and submit an application with my reasons for it - 10+ days waiting time. Pretty shit experience.

Also I recently wanted to get the Xiaomi Mi box 4K, but reviews show that it can't even handle 3840*2160 @30Hz, so that was a no-go.

Also software updates are generally sparse on their stuff.

Have you actually read your warranty or what it covers? They do everything in their power to ensure that what happened was your fault. Screen broke? Your fault, pay $150 for a replacement. Phone won't turn on, you clearly did something, pay to replace.
The only actual differentiation point between chinkphones and western-branded chinkphones is the short ~14 day return period.
