I'm looking for an alternative to Skype, specifically video calls, and haven't quite found anything that works smooth enough yet. My requirements are:
- must be open-source
- preferably p2p
- supports Linux
- doesn't spy on my arse
- works more or less stable on over internet and not only within the same network

Does anyone has suggestions? I don't care if video quality is not perfect if it works.

Pidgin now supports videocalls. Also there is Jitsi for videoconference.

Haven't tried it yet. Do you have experience actually using it for at least a few days? What kind of problems you had if you had any?

Sorry, I'm don't have too much friends and I can't test any of such software right now, but I'll need to pick something in the future, that's why I'm asking here.

i have been using wire for a couple if months, and there isn't much problems, except that if you have an Android phone, it won't update the notifications on it.

Well, on Ubuntu Gnome I have a black screen instead of GUI.
